Ideal You Weight Loss Center's Online Review Report Card

This program does work if you listen to coach, hence the 1 Star. The problem is that the Ideal You managers put profits ahead of people's well being. If you can buy the same product elsewhere for a fraction of the cost, why buy their brand items? Well If you do not buy ALL of their products they will kick you out of program...and not be nice about it. Weekly cost is $150- $170, and that does not include anything for dinner. What a giant SCAM ! My advice is to join and learn their program until you get flagged for not buying their over priced supplements, and other crap. Then just continue onward, by making purchases elsewhere. The Manager at the new Tonawanda location is very rude and smug. She just see's dollar signs $$$. Any business that expels customers because they are not buying 100% of the product, is a place with a terrible business model plan. Any incoming money is better than zero! #Incompetence If you have money to throw away and like to be treated like a number, then this is the place for you.

This rating is solely based on my interaction with the owner, Donna, and how incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional she was. I have been doing Ideal You for over a month and a half, and have enjoyed the program and the snacks. I had my weekly check in and this week I met with Donna for the first time. She started the session by badgering and belittling me on my progress, which for the record I am very proud of. A few of her comments were comparing me doing this program to a dog chasing his tail cut off or being pregnant (her exact words were you either are or you aren't), this is all in between multiple times of her saying how amazing she looks from being on the program and how her husband is the medical director (7x). I never once said the program was not working, and frankly, I mentioned to her how I have enjoyed it, love how I am feeling and looking, and how it's holding me accountable. The comments she said in our session made me feel like I shouldn't be proud of what I've accomplished and I left feeling disappointed in myself and a lower self esteem. All in all, I'm very disappointed in the way she conducts herself and the way she made me feel uncomfortable with my body based on her comments. It was unbelievably unprofessional. I hope she never meets with another client again because no one should ever feel that way about themselves like she made me feel today.

I was on the Ideal You weight loss plan for about just over a month. I lost weight and am generally feeling better overall. But there are some BIG cons to be aware of here, too: * When I initially called about the program, I asked if it was suitable for vegetarians. The response was "all of our products are vegetarian." I reiterated this during my initial consultation, and was given the same response. Turns out, NOPE. After using the products a few weeks, I noticed on about half of the labels of products I used "Beef Gelatin". This is hidden in things like "Vegetable Chili" and "Strawberry Wafers". It is 100% my bad for not carefully studying the labels sooner, but absolutely unacceptable for Ideal You to represent any product with "Beef" in the label as vegetarian. * The initial consultation meeting is rushed and robotic. This is not my first rodeo with a weight loss program, or losing weight in general. So I was able to keep up and better understand the materials when I reviewed everything after at home. But if you are totally new to using a weight loss program, the initial consultation will likely be confusing and overwhelming. * Each week I went to Ideal You, I had a different consultant. At my first session, we scheduled a time for that particular consultant per her availability. Haven't seen her since. Again, done a variety of other programs, and one staple is you build a relationship with your consultant. In the IP Protein support groups online, people regularly reference their relationship with their consistent consultant. That did not happen for me. * The products and supplements are expensive, certainly compared to what you would pay in regular stores. This is not shocking, as any program I've done the products are always pricey. Makes sense, they have to cover all of the overhead of running a brick-and-mortar center and staff. If you are at all interested in transitioning your nutrition to some form of keto, Ideal You is a good place to start to get on track, but you'll save a lot of money managing your own nutrition and supplements the sooner you can get off of their products. * And their food products are very, very meh'. I call it 'space food'. It is all shelf-stable, highly processed food packets. Yes, they will work to get you started on ketosis. But transitioning to whole, clean keto-friendly foods as soon as you can is much better nutrition overall, and your ketone levels will be higher. * When I brought up to one of the many consultants I've seen that I've been doing my due diligence to research keto nutrition using library books, they shoved me a handout about how Ideal You is not the same as keto. Not true. Ideal You, in their very own introduction video, explains your body will go into ketosis on their program. What they don't seem to understand is there are many, many, many different forms that a keto diet and lifestyle can take on. I know this after a month of library research, so it's odd they aren't open to this conversation. Yes, many keto diets are high in the bad fats. I am vegetarian, and often vegan, and keto in this form is extremely healthy and abundant in the good fats, lean protein, and high-quality fiber. I was disappointed that my consultant at this session had no knowledge of this. * All of the different consultants I've seen are nice enough, nobody has been outright rude or entirely dismissive. But I will say they are very robotic to the Ideal You script. I don't get the sense that any of the consultants are all that knowledgeable about keto nutrition in general, but rather have just memorized the appropriate scripts and responses to keep clients hooked on Ideal You products and supplements for as long as they can. I get that, it is a business, they want you to keep buying their stuff. But the lack of knowledge in nutrition in general is unfortunate. I'm mixed about my experience with Ideal You, but was initially leaning more towards three stars because I have lost weight, and I am excited to continue on with the keto lifestyle on my own. But a BIG MISS for me was that I had been eating beef products as a vegetarian because I was told by Ideal You that all of their products were vegetarian friendly. Again, NOT TRUE. READ THE LABELS if you are vegetarian and trying this program. And once I started incorporating clean and lean vegetarian keto foods of my own, I noticed my ketones go up (using urine strips), my energy get even better, my digestion improve even more, and even more weight loss. So their highly-processed and limited products really have nothing on real good quality whole keto foods. That being said, I needed some help to get started with something, and Ideal You was a good springboard for me to at least get something going towards better health. So, in summary, Ideal You can work. I lost about 20 lbs. in the month I was on the program, and am still losing doing keto on my own now. But buyer beware at all of the downsides to this program too.
