If I could give less than one star, I would. Zero empathy. You know when you talk to a teenage boy, and he "uh-huh's" you repeatedly? Insists he's listening, but you know he isn't? That's Dr. Lanford. He was mentally elsewhere during the visit, not in the room. That is, until the one subject he was interested in came up: insurance reimbursement. Suddenly he spoke in more than monosyllables! Apparently, that moves him. (adolescent self-interest, but I digress) He did not ask about history (which includes a sister and mother who had strokes). He seemed wholly uninterested in the cognitive difficulties. I could go on. I just read that 50% of neurologists are burnt out (per Medscape). Well, that makes it a coin toss. He is probably burnt out, since lack of empathy and poor quality of care follow (again, per Medscape). Want a good neurologist? Good luck. I got "tails you lose" at this office.
Pleasant, Explained diagnoses. Ask what question I might have. Offered additional testing and return appointment. Very pleased.
Real former patient here. 2 stars because he did nerve testing and some additional blood tests in an attempt to diagnose. No comment on testing. Spent more time in exam chatting with the female tech than me. Shushed me when I asked a question while he was looking up something online. No follow up comment on tests and no referral to anyone to continue work up,. I spent almost 20 years working along ...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
