Laura Adams's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr. Adams for several years, but have finally decided to seek healthcare from a different provider. Her office staff experiences high turnover, and has often been rude and hostile to deal with in the past. I had an experience where I was kept waiting to see the doctor (in the reception area) for over an hour and then told there were still 3 patients ahead of me before I finally gave up on waiting and left. Her nurse and billing personnel do not return phone calls in a timely manner, if at all. Her nurse dropped the ball on following-up with a prescription renewal and did not send adequate paperwork/justification requested by the insurance company, so the insurance refused to pay for the prescription. Dr. Adams has had me come see her ever 3-4 months to keep tabs on my BP and other issues. Despite having regular lab work and visits, she did not code a single visit in 2019 as a "wellness" visit, which is going to screw me over with my employer's premium policy of having a wellness visit performed by X date. When the doctor finally sees you, it's for a brief period of time, maybe 5-10 minutes at the most. I'll give her high marks for her bedside manner. I feel like she and her staff do not follow-up on care, and that I'm just a payment and not a person.

My PCP for at least 10 years. I appreciate her straightforwardness, patience, and her aggressive approach to finding solutions. I trust her completely.

I went to Dr Adams office needing referrals to see specialists cardiology, dermatology and chronic pain management from ack injury I suffered while working for Delta Airlines. The staff their is totally incompetent they had me come in fill out a new patient packet sign Medical release for each previous physician then scheduled me an appointment for 14 days later. When I arrived for my appointment they took me back went through a big list of things they will and won't do I said I understood. But when I asked about the referrals I was told my medical records had not come in when I why they said it just takes time. Well come to find out that after contacting my old physicians the staff had not even bothered to fax them the medical release forms I filled out two weeks earlier. These hillbillies are out of there mind's and off the chain they are inefficient, incompetent and only looking for an office visit. STAY AWAY!!!

Dr. Adams has been my doctor for a few years. I prefer female doctors because they don't tend to dismiss your issues as imaginary like some male doctors. I have always felt that Dr. Adams was adequate, but my husband felt that she wasn't doing enough listening and gave less than adequate treatment. I have never seen Dr. Adams be on time for an appointment. I have waited anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes. The nurse puts you in a treatment room fairly promptly, but then the longer wait begins. A patient could take a nap while waiting. I am a patient with numerous medical and depression problems. Dr. Adams has seen me for these depressive episodes, and knows that past abuse, maltreatment, family problems, family deaths, divorces, stern and unloving parents, a workaholic husband, rheumatic and fibromyalgia pains are all part of my issues. The last time I had an appointment for a follow-up to renew medications, I was running a couple of minutes late. My grandson had just moved in with me, and issues with teenagers all seem to come up at the last minute. Over the years I can not remember ever being more than a minute or two late. That day I was hurting very much. There was no handicapped parking left, and I had to circle the parking lot twice to find a space that was too far away for comfort. While walking slowly, hurting and stiff, there was an older lady that was just behind me. When we reached the entry door about the same time. I held the door open for this woman, smiled and spoke to her, then allowed her to walk before me to the sign in desk. She signed in slowly, then it was my turn. I signed in very slowly with my arthritic hand, and notated the time. I sat down in the waiting room, and noticed the receptionist whispering to another person, then she left the desk to go into the treatment areas. She came back shortly, called me to the front, then told me that Dr. Adams could not see me because I was 7 minutes late. With everyone watching, I became embarrassed, began to cry, and told the receptionist that "patients have problems too". The receptionist tried to reschedule me for another day. I told her that I would not be back, and I haven't been. With the issues which I have, it is a painful, stiff snd sore process to get ready to go anywhere. I feel that a doctor should be more considerate of the patient's pain and emotions before refusing to treat a scheduled patient. For years, my schedule didn't seem to matter to Dr. Adams when I had to wait for her. Now I am in a position of trying to find another doctor who will accept my insurance. I do not recommend Dr. Adams as a sincere ethical human being.

Dr. Adams was my Doctor for several years at another clinic. She left and I stayed with that clinic for 3 years due to insurance reasons. I finally had enough with a doctor who's interactions with me were controlled by an insurance company and an H.R. dept. and went back to Dr. Adams - A doctor who takes the time to actually listen to a patient's concerns and research issues she is not sure of and who genuinely cares about the well being of her patients. I'll never switch doctors again barring an Obamacare mandate.

Excellent doctor, listens to your concerns, spends as much time as necessary with you to provide the best medical care possible. Freely refers you to other specialist when needed. Could not ask for more in a primary care doctor.

Can't disagree with the previous comment more. Dr. Adams is an 8 to 5 M-F doctor. My wife had an MRI performed the day after leaving the ER and Dr. Adams could not be bothered to look at the MRI to give us the results. If you are ever even a critical situation you had better hope that Dr. Adams isn't your primary care physician. Good luck getting in touch with her.

EXCELLENT DR! Laura Adams is an exceptionally caring, compassion and people driven dr. She's 100% about the patient and NOT the money.
