Megan Karnopp Md's Online Review Report Card

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I have now had several issues with fraudulent charting and retaliation from Dr. Karnopp, the latest being at the South Bend location, including June when she delayed care for my child’s e. Coli. Most recently, i called nurse advice because my child was spitting out all her liquids and only eating soft foods. They told me they were concerned with a sore throat (she was already on antibiotics that would have treated it, prescribed by COPA) and refused any other option than the coronavirus clinic. I agreed to the appointment as long as they were willing to come out to my car and do everything that could be done there as to refrain from exposing us to the virus. They agreed to this verbally as long as I got in my car immediately and drove to the site, but when I did, they suddenly changed the situation and we were told to go inside and they were waiting for us at the door to let us in. When I went in and this wasn’t the case, I attempted to leave, at which point they became hostile towards me and refused to let me do so. During the exam, they became even more hostile when I expressed concerns and even threatened my child’s care, called me a problem parent referring to the previous complaint I had made, and referred to us as a burden. I was put in the place of being denied the right to leave, but also the threat of refusal to examine my child if I didn’t comply and stop being terrified of exposure to a deadly pandemic, as we are both high risk. The next afternoon, I was called by Dr. Clausen I believe, and informed that I needed to find a new provider (I was already planning to), because of the false allegation that I had called someone an inappropriate name. The part that bothers me isn’t that I was “fired,” but that I was told that they would not be taking my concerns seriously because of this false allegation. I am appalled that my concerns would not be taken seriously because they lied and falsely represented the situation and verbiage.

My daughter had a terrible experience with Dr. Karnopp, she was unfriendly and rude which left my shy and timid daughter feeling like the doctor personally did not like her. My daughter was in pain and feeling very unwell, she gave us not real indication of what she felt was wrong. Four days later my daughter is still very unwell, we will be getting her in with a different doctor.

I wish every teenage girl had a doctor like Megan Karnopp. Dr. Karnopp is so personable, listens carefully to any questions my daughter (or I) have. She takes her time, asking about school, sports, friends etc. She never makes us feel rushed and obviously has genuine concern for her patient's physical and emotional well-being.

We are so glad we found Dr. Karnopp for our pediatrician. She is very knowledgeable and also makes you feel comfortable because she is down to earth. We've only seen her a couple times, but she remembers the whole family making us feel well cared for. Great bedside manner! I highly recommend Dr. Karnopp. Our kids are excited to go back to see the doctor :)
