Dr. Omizo was my radiation oncologist for treatment of my cancer. He was compassionate, kind, thoughtful to specifics of my case, and gave me confidence in my treatment options, my expected outcomes, and my care while in his hands. His staff was equally capable, kind, and considerate, from the nurses on staff at St. Charles, as well as the great radiation techs, handling me kindly and professionally through my treatment. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Omizo, as well as St. Charles Cancer Center for the quality of care delivered.

Dr. Omizo was my husband’s first cancer specialist and quite impressive. He was knowledgeable, caring and patient with all our questions. He even came to the hospital to visit long past his treatment responsibility. It was a comfort to us to know he cared right to the end.

My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Head and Neck cancer. Dr. Omizo was his radiation oncologist. Dr. Omizo was very positive and upbeat—while not sugar coating what we were up against. I appreciated how compassionate and understanding he was to me as a caregiver and spouse. The treatment protocol that he developed and supervised was highly successful! Thank you Dr. Omizo!

I have been very pleased at the care I have received by DR. Fitzmaurice and the team at St Charles Cancer center. They seem to have minimal turnover in their front office and nursing team, which is not always the case in different departments at the hospital. Their infusion room and patient rooms are thoughtfully designed to be very open and bright and without a lot of “medical” feel. It’s helpful when you are discussing difficult information not to feel blocked in or claustrophobic. I will also say that the free massage/reiki/acupuncture helped me greatly with managing my symptoms. Michelle the nurse navigator is a godsend in talking about problems and helping you digest the information. Dr Fitzmaurice has been excellent at giving me straight information while still acknowledging my fears and worries. Her treatment plan scared me at first but she was correct in all ways and I had excellent outcomes by following her recommendations. On several occasions she has called me personally, hand delivered info to me and even walked all the way to the emergency room to see me when I was having complications. She is incredibly trustworthy and very smart. I am very glad I was assigned to Dr. Fitzmaurice and her team.

Dr. Omizo is one of the most patient- focused doctors I have ever met. He spent over a hour with us, and by the end of the appointment I felt like he really knew me. I also felt totally confident that he knew what needed to happen in my case.
