Saurabh Gupta's Online Review Report Card

Dr Gupta and his team with Dr Slater performed a TAVR on me in July 2019 at St. Charles. Dr. Gupta is an amazing interventional cardiologist but also an even more amazing person. He is humble, kind, empathetic, treats you as an individual and and very involved in your care. I would refer Dr Gupta and his team to anyone that I cared about with confidence. Thank you Dr. Gupta for saving my life.

Saved my life

Dr. Gupta was thorough in explaining the procedure to me along with it's risk. Although it was a dangerous procedure he executed it flawlessly. It is my opinion that he saved my life. I am grateful for his expertise. Patricia Stagner

Dr. Gupta was the first heart surgeon I saw at OHSU in Portland and always treated me with respect and listened to my concerns and answered questions. I was unfortunate not to have him perform my aortic valve replacement. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

When Dr. Gupta entered the room she was immediately hostile about why the lights were off. I was laying on the table and light was too bright so the nurse tuned them off and opened the door. I was asked to stay sitting on the table for the Docter to examine me. Dr. Gupta did not examine me she simply stood by the door and asked me more questions than she answered. Every response I gave was criticized in a negative manner regarding my day to day living. Especially that I was instructed "not to drink water." When asking her "why" she said you have been told this before. I told her no Dr. has ever told me to refrain from drinking water or any liquids. She became very angry with my lack of knowledge which led to an even more unpleasant dialogue. I asked her about my test, her response was, "I already answered that question" she went on to scold me about why I would drink Gatorade since I was diabetic. My daughter quickly told her I was not diabetic, she looked through my chart and said "oh I guess you aren't." She told me she recommends a stress test be performed in their office. I asked questions about the dangers on stressing my heart in the office she replied there are doctors around if there is a problem. I asked if the doctor performs the test, she was highly offended, saying no a tech will do it. I told her I was frustrated she would not tell me about the results of my echocardiogram from last week but here she wanted another expensive test. I asked for a print out of the results, she said good luck you won't understand them. she was not the least bit forthcoming with any information that would lead me to understand the state of my heart and how that relayed to more testing. If anything she was personally insulting, arrogant, and rude. I had my daughter with me and spoke with her after the appt. to seen what she thought, and it was confirmed when she responded "it was sadly a waste of time." I have called my Primary care Physician requesting she follow up with me regarding my test results or refer me to a different cardiologist.
