Nope nope nope, nope
Dedicated Staff, Excellent Health Care. Dr. Mann and his team have taken the time to explain options to help me make informed decisions. Surgery was seamless, five star service all around.
He failed to notice a significant tumor on my husband’s shoulder and diagnosed it as bursitis. We asked for an MRI, and his office refused. When Immediate Care requested an MRI, we discovered a fatal cancer. Dr. Mann told my husband he could call him anytime. He would not return a phone call. Run from Dr. Mann. My husband was his patient for many years. He died and Dr. Mann hasn’t sent any condolences.
Consider Dr. Stephen Mann at High Lakes Health Care if you are seeking a doctor that is void of empathy, runs 20 minutes behind schedule, consults in a hurry, leaves the room, comes back and as you begin to speak, backs out the door and says without any explanation, “Sorry, I can’t help you.” Additionally, part of his examination consisted of roughly jerking me around, as if he were a chiropractor. As a result, I am in increased pain. To say, I was surprised is an understatement. I went Dr. Mann specifically for osteopathic treatment. I paid a $91.00 co-pay to have a trained professional to walk out of the room while I was talking. He gave me absolutely nothing - zero suggestions, no explanation - not even a simple, “What about trying ice or heat for your pain?” Something? Nope, nothing…so if you are looking to be rudely dismissed, and pay your copay for it…then Dr. Mann is just the doctor you are seeking!

Otherwise, seek someone else if you truly want help for a medical condition. Lastly, I just read this doctor’s notes from my visit, it is full of inaccuracies to fit his own narrative. Information that he felt would be of use to me but yet never shared with me…which makes a lot of sense, not! He did not meet with me the amount of time he stated, and he said very little. Also, he discredited another doctor’s assessment of the origins of my pain.
I am new to the area and have been looking for a doctor. I went to Dr. Mann as he is a DO. I'm not sure how I felt about him as i had only seen him once. However, I called to make an inquiry and the girl who seen deserted the phone Sandy was rather rude. I understand their job can be stressful as I used to do that kind of work, but NEVER did I treat any patient rudely. Needless to say, I am looking for a new doctor.
I've been seeing Dr. Mann for about six years now and each time I have an appointment with him, I kick myself for not finding someone else. EVERY time I see him, I have an extended wait time well past my appointment - often up to an hour! When he does come in, he reviews his chart, asks a few questions, then spends the remainder of the time speaking into his voice recorder as if I wasn't in the room. He NEVER follows up on anything and the staff treats people like they are annoyances rather than patients - and quite possibly the rudest staff I have ever encountered. I dislike the experience so much that I find myself avoiding trips to see him, even when I am most in need. It is also incredibly difficult to refill prescriptions, as they take forever to follow up. In fact, I wound up going completely off my medication once since they NEVER bothered to refill it (turns out Dr. Mann was on sabbatical and no one bothered to tell me or pass along my information). There are many other physicians in Bend - I encourage you to find another one.
Please take this review into much consideration when choosing if you should visit here or continue to come here for any medical reason. This is a sincere warning from the bottom of my heart. This place and the employees here, including Dr.Mann, almost killed my mother. She is lucky to be alive and in much extra pain because of the negligence that occurred here. Unfortunately, it gets worse. To make a long story short, my mom was misdiagnosed, told to take a supplement that in turn made the real matter much much worse and then to top it off when she came back for the follow up and things ended up being worse and she asked about the validity of the diagnosis and for follow up testing she was treated in a rude manner and with complete disrespect from Dr.Mann. My mom is the greatest and most kind person I know and she does not deserve this. This is not like messing up a food order or some other small mistake. This is life and death. Do not come here. The rude treatment after the fact blows my mind and really pushed me to write this review. I just don't want anyone else to go through the extra pain - which will last a long time in my mom's situation. To think it could not be as bad as it is really gets me and trust me no family should go through this and then be treated in such a manner.... Don't come here and consider going somewhere new if you already are coming here and at least if you really feel like something is going on inside you get a 2nd opinion, it could save your life.
Dr Mann was a good doctor, for the most part. However, at my request he was treating me for headaches with estrogen shots. When I began to bleed profusely and it continued for 22 days, he told me I would just have to "wait it out". I finally called my gynecologist on a weekend and was advised not to see anyone but a gynocologist for hormone treatment. One shot of progesterone ended my misery. This is why I stopped seeing Dr. Mann.
Dr. Mann has prescribed my husband lisdextroamphetmaine, a strong psychotropic medication for treatment of "ADHD" that has caused him to become completely emotionally unavailable, aggressive, irritable, and completly self-absorbed. Dr. Mann has refused to prescribe him any other medication at both mine and my husband's request. Dr. Mann is apparently working on behalf of Shire Pharmaceuticals rather than his patient. He has effectively changed my husband and our marriage for the worst by irresponsbly administering a medication after having received feedback of negative side effects and has refused to alter course of treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
