Excellent care

I was in an accident in 2011 I have had a surgery and MANY MANY hours of PT Along the way! Through the "Occupational" DR'S AS well as three other Primary care Doctors (It does not seem like Dr's stay in the same place long like they used to!!) AS a result of my Injury I Take a VERY SMALL amount of Opiod Pain Killers as a resullt of my injury and my 6 day a week VERY PHYSICAL JOB!!! I got a letter in the mail abot TWO Months ago saying my Long time PCP was leaving the practice to go into "specialty Practice" and taht the other DR in the Clinic COULD NOT absorb his patients (It was a VERY Small Clkinic)! I called and made an appointment at OHSU Scapppoose I had my 9 years of COMPLEX MEdical Records in hand I made an Appointment and tye set me up with DR Wahls! First off DR Wahjls is VERY nice but I was VERY upset about Our visit! I Like I said hjad the MANY years of Medical REcords form the PCP as well as the MANY MANY specialists taht I saw and all he cared to look at was the two poage front and back form I filled out as a "New Patient" He l;ooked at the Medication List adn said I see you take Oxycodone I do not believe in that "IN MY Practice" (Mind ytou it is not his Practice he works for OHSU Scappose Clinic) He did not EVEN lok at the HUNDREDS of pages of Medicall charts I vbrought in he asked me LOTS of Weird Questions I told him that I had ALOT of pain and it made it VERY HARD to sleep at night so instead of looking at the MEdical Documents I supplied he missed the fact that I was in TONS of Pain and woke up MANY times a night as a result instead of looking at the Medical recorsds I provided he ordered a Sleep Study and said "you probably can't sleep due to Sleep Apnea" (I know I spelled taht wrong LOL) and prdered a Sleep Study! He also calimed I suffered from PTSD for reasons I do not understand! Look the guy was VERY NIUCE but he is oviously so AGAINST Opiads taht he makes up medical conditions to try to justify it! The WHOLE Visit was VERY weird Like I said HE refused to look at ANY of the MANY years oif RECORDS form my past PCP as well as SEVERAL specialists some of which were OHSU specialists! I want to say agaion taht the guy in nce and I bet he is a good DR in MANY ways but he is VERY much against ANYT pain medication right off from the gate he does not care the reason you take it he won't wvwn open the file or in my cas ethe MNAY FILES! My issue with him was that! Other than that he was a real nice guy!

Very comprehensive and thorough. He was thoughtful and made several helpful suggestions.

I've been seeing Dr. Wahls for about a year now. He's always shown me great compassion instead of judging me about my past. I have difficulty understanding things sometimes and he is very patient with restating issues in a way that I can understand. He has this very infectious goofy grin that I always look forward to seeing when he walks in the room. I am very pleased with his courtesy and I believe he really tries to get to the root of the myriad of health issues that I have. I highly recommend him.
