Assisting Hands was excellent caring for my aging mother She has Parkinsons and other debilitating conditions which required someone to be with her every day for 8 hours a day until her children were able to be with her in the evenings. AH found excellent caregivers for mom for over 2 years the caregivers were longterm and always reliable and outstanding. In addition to the competence and caring of each individual caregiver the office provided excellent oversight for medication management. Whenever we had any questions or feedback they responded willingly and thoughtfully. They were flexible and worked with the caregivers to find and adjust the optimal schedule for my mom. I would highly recommend them and have already done so to other family members and close friends.

Be careful working at the Happy Valley location. Management frequently forgets to pay your correct wages. Check your paystubs 🙃 There were multiple instances I had to fight to get paid what I earned whether it be worked hours or sick pay. Management has no clear understanding of what it is to be professional and follow labor laws. They will barrage you with calls and emails on blocked off hours of your schedule to see if you can work. They do not honor the fact that you’ve made previous commitments pretend to not be upset about it. If you call out sick prepare to be asked if you can work at a later time then instead. The nurse is toxic and if you don’t do what she wants then you’ll be treated like dirt. She does not like to be told no. Once she realizes she can’t work you into the ground she doesn’t give you the light of day. Yes there is a caregiving shortage. That’s not my problem. You cannot make an employment crisis my issue. She makes her problems your problems She will take everything you give her until she can’t take anymore. Ignorance truly is bliss until the state catches up to you. A blind eye can’t be turned forever

We used 24 hour care for over a month for our grandfather who was placed on hospice. Janel and her staff primarily Leah and Zanna were amazing and took the best care of our grandfather. They were always on time intuitive to his needs and very supportive. I highly recommend them and should we need them again in the future I will definitely do so.

I highly recommend the Assisting Hands team. From the ownership to the caregivers they are a trusted organization for us. I highly recommend.

I worked for Assisting Hands for a little over a year. Janel and Randy are the best employers I have ever had. They are so kind and understanding. Due to health issues I has to leave and it is one of the hardest things I I have had to do. Assisting Hands has been providing inhome care for my Mom for the past several months and it hasnt been easy as I live in a different state from my Mother. They all care deeply for my Mom yet respect the needs and nuances in care for my Mom as I have asked. Assisting Hands was so helpful with setting up care for my Mom. We started out thinking we only need a little care but my Mom had a quick change in health. The wonderful people at Helping Hands are angels I would not have been able to keep Mom with us at home as long as we did without their support and loving care. Mom loved her caregiver who told stories and drew Mom out. I often found them laughing together. It provided me with the time I needed to get some tasks done since Moms Alzheimers had reached the point that she could not be on her own for longer than a few minutes. I had peace of mind knowing that Moms caregiver would be there for Mom. The office support was always super answering questions and finding someone to cover special events. I couldnt be more please with Assisting Hands.
