List of Daniel Barrett's Reviews
Dr. Barrett is such a great doctor. He's been a breath of fresh air. He takes the time to explain things to you and figure out if you are or not doing/ trying something instead of assuming automatically you're not.
I too think he's an awesome Doctor, with a great considerate compassionate attitude. Can't imagine how anyone would think otherwise. My long term Doc retired and I'm glad I chose Dr Barrett for my PCP. Have you ever had a physician recommend Meditation? well he did and it was life changing - positive effects on blood pressure, COPD, attitude, peace of mind and more, He speaks of wholesome things vs just pulling out a prescription pad like 96% of doctors do. Very happy with this service, care and professionalism, and his nurse Jan is a total peach herself. Highly recommended
He is smart, kind, thoughtful, willing to listen. When my other Doc for 40 years retired, I had to choose another, and I am glad I did choose Dr Barrett All 3 of us use him now.
Very good. Caring. Professional. And I love Nurse Janice who has been working with him for almost 20 years
Dr. Barrett has been my PCP for at least 13 years. I've moved around some so likely longer than that. I have always found him to be punctual, attentive, thoughtful, well-humored, and thorough. He is sincere in that he will tell you that there are medical 'fixes' such as pills and procedures, but that the ultimate cure for what ails us is often in our own hands. In other words, self control, consistency, and good choices when it comes to lifestyle. I'm lucky enough that I've not suffered from a significant physical trauma or chronic health issues. However, the burden of continued good health lies predominantly with me acting upon his guidance. I've read two reviews stating that Dr. Barrett is callous or uncaring (poor bedside manner). I suspect that these people are in great pain seeking immediate relief (not always a reasonable or feasible feat), or simply do not want to take the bad tasting medicine (i.e. sound advice regarding the things we can control/lifestyle) that many of us truly need. Yes - I recommend Dr. Barrett wholeheartedly.
Dr. Barrett of Corvallis Clinic has always been helpful and knowlegable for my health.
Dr. Barrett was callous and uncaring at a really hard point in my medical health. I went to him a couple months after suffering a devastating car accident (I was hit by a drunk driver) which resulted in a crushed vertebrae in my spine (which never healed, my back is permanently broken), and spending days in ICU at OHSU, and having spine surgeries. He did not examine me (thankfully I had an amazing spine surgeon who took care of me), he did not ask how I was doing or engage with me in any way, except to lecture me about taking pain medication (hello, broken back, recent major back surgery, in bed 23 hours a day from broken back, barely walking with a walker). He ended up being very medically inappropriate, in my opinion and my husbands, in several ways, but I can't go into it all here. Just to say that my husband went to all my appointments, and he told me he had never seen any doctor act that way. He and I were both so overwhelmed with our lives completely changing in one car ride, that having such an unsupportive, uncaring doctor really caused a huge hardship. It was such a hard point in my life, and I could have used kind, compassionate medical care, but I got the opposite (and I don't say that lightly, it was the opposite). You might be able to go to him if you have a condition that he enjoys treating, but if you want a doctor who cares about the patient and is dedicated to helping you with whatever medical situation you encounter, you may want to look elsewhere. I certainly did. Super disappointing, and his interactions and the interactions he caused from his referral added so much hardship to a devastating situation. Thankfully, I had other doctors who were very good, and got me through it, otherwise I don't know what I would have done.
Excellent doctor witha wealth of knowledge. Doesnt just refer you out. Trys to treat the problem.
Dr. Barrett doesn't listen to me. He has his own agenda and tells me to try things that I've been doing and that aren't working. I have tried so many things under another doctor's care, but he wants me to try them "again" with him. I said, I've been doing these things for several years, I came here to try something new. He said he wants me to try doing this other thing for one month. I said, again, that's nothing new for me, and it's not "trying" something with him if I'm already doing it and have been doing it. I've been doing that for nearly 3 years and it's not working. It's like he can't hear me.
Dr Barrett has been my physician for many years. He cares, takes time to listen, has never rushed me out, and is well informed on a wide range of issues. And he has a good sense of humor! I highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
