List of Marc Musson's Reviews
I liked Dr Musson and his staff. However his associate is awful. Dr Musson never followed up and asked me what happened between his associate and me even after being a patient for 2 years so no refills on pain meds were ever done. So Dr Musson lost major points on that. As for Brolin, DMV is more compassionate then he is.
With great anticipation, I was scheduled for an apt. to see Dr. Marc Musson. Dr. Laura Rung, my highly trained Physiatrist for 20 years had retired. Although she did not know Dr. Musson herself, she felt that he could be an option for me after her retirement. Sadly, I waited for approximately 25 minutes before finally seeing a PA for my very first visit to Black Stone! In 20 years of treatment with Dr. Rung I never saw a PA! Mr. Johnson may well be a knowledgeable PA, but he is not a doctor! During my "evaluation" Mr. Johnson explained several treatments Black Stone offers. He gave me numerous handouts and supposedly sent a prescription for muscle relaxers to my pharmacy. Mr. Johnson told me that my case would be reviewed by Dr. Musson. Two weeks later, I have not heard a word from Black Stone. A star was required, but I would not give this facility a single star!
He must not believe in the hippocratic oath. But then again when it comes to pain management most doctors do not.
So very disappointed in Dr. Musson and his staff. Arrived a few minutes for my appointment and the reception area was empty. Took a seat and could hear the receptionist on the phone, out of my view, she was talking with someone about chores and laundry for 10 minutes without even knowing anyone had arrived. Dr. Musson came to the appointment without even reviewing the MRI that I had had the prior week and took a good part of the appointment scrolling through the report. He neglected to compare the previous MRI of the same area to determine if there are continued changes. He asked multiple questions but failed to listen to the answers, many of which had been discussed in previous appointments and were in the chart notes that I had accessed within the Patient Portal. I would not recommend Dr. Musson for healthcare of any sort, he is not prepared, thorough or concerned with patient care.
Very professional with superb bedside manner
Dr. Mussen is a thorough and caring physician. In my experience he will focus intently on you and you health issues. His manner is very friendly and welcomes questions which he answers with patience and in a clear and understandable manner. He will discuss a variety of options for treatment and clearly explains the benefits and drawbacks of each so that you can decide what might be the best approach for you. His assistants and office staff are very helpful and friendly
Dr. Musson is fantastic. He is not just a very skilled physician, he is a very kind and engaging human being who LISTENS , responds and engages. I have had two procedures with him which could have been much more difficut but were not because of him and his great staff. I cannot recommend him highly enough, and I am a tough sell with doctors. We are so lucky to have him in Corvallis. Linda Carroll
Dr. Musson and his staff are very caring and very professional. I have been seeing this doctor for a couple of years and would highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Musson is not opposed to alternative therapies, and that makes it easy to avoid opiates. Thank you sir.
I was coming off, a few days earlier, perhaps the most awful experience interacting with physician that I've ever had (Paul Coelho, look him up, read the reviews, and stay away from him!), so my expectations were low. So I was very anxious going in, mostly because that bad experience was fresh in my mind. That being said, my first meeting with Dr. Musson was the complete opposite. He has a relaxed, genial yet professional manner. He spent a good deal of time with me, he listened, and he explained things pretty clearly. I'm new to the area and needed to find a pain management doctor to continue my treatment. I've read a lot about (and even written about) the prescription painkiller crisis, so I expect any doctor to consider a new patient carefully if narcotics are involved, and I'm sure Dr. Musson did that, but he didn't go overboard and assume the worst. Whereas the first pain doctor I visited here immediately treated as an addict, and one of the other pain clinics in the area seems to be very liberal with pain medicine (It's principal doctor is ranked 15th in Oregon for prescribing pain meds) It seems that Dr. Musson takes a middle road, exercising caution, formulating a practical approach to treatment and listening carefully. And while he mentioned a couple of minor procedures that could be options down the road, he didn't push them and understood that I've gotten minimal relief from the many, many epidural injections I've had over the years. Granted, this was my first and only appointment so far (I put down 5 stars for follow-up as a guess) but first impressions are often very accurate. It's stressful enough moving across the country, so I'm very relieved that I seem to have found a good doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
