List of Robert Hughes's Reviews
Dr. Robert Hughes was the PCP of my mother Gretel Marchbanks--and from her first visit--his charm and warmth were quite disturbing--"turning off" sometimes as if a light switch had been flipped--At the end of her life--mid 2014--in defiance of an Advance Directive--which he never even asked to see--Dr. Hughes would not authorize Hospice for my mother Gretel--without stopping use of vital medication to treat Alzheimer's. MY FAMILY DECLINED HIS OFFER--and charges were never filed--BUT--they still can be--I WOULD BE CAUTIOUS about trusting that Dr. Hughes has genuine compassion or empathy--PROCEED ( ) IF YOU NEED HIS SERVICES--WITH EXTRAORDINARY CARE--HEM--CORVALLIS
I went in to talk about some issues I was having with my birth control medication, and Dr. Hughes listened very empathetically to my emotional woes when I'm forced to menstruate, and immediately suggested I get a 3-month supply instead of 1 month so I could effectively skip the withdrawal bleeding for longer and not have to experience the emotional turmoil and physical discomfort of it as often. I cannot stress how important it is for medical providers, both male and female, to actually hear what their patients are saying and try to make them as comfortable as possible. Dr. Hughes was funny, kind, and understanding, which was perfect.
Dr. Rob Hughes has been my Primary Physician since 2005. He is an excellent listener, confirms what I have shared by asking inquiry remarks/questions. His body language by leaning slightly forward, hands-palms open &together, with incredible and reassuring-confident-engaging eye contact! This approach is so essential, in order to propose a compatible diagnosis that is compatible to my current life style & together reach a doable outcome. Dr. Hughes has encourage my wife and I, to be fully responsible for our choices-direction in living healthy and confidently, as we age 50 plus married years together!
Incredibly caring and engaging. He asks questions that help him understand your concerns and involves the patient in the method of care. We highly recommend him.
DR. Robert Hughes has been my doctor for more than 15 years. He has given me exceptional care and always listens to my thoughts comments and concerns. He talks to me, not at me. Dr. Hughes expects his patients to participate in their care but always leeds me in the way of making good decisions. If I choose to want to go another direction he is understands and believes I should have that right. He has a few times found reason for me to seek specialized care that could have had dussaterus results had I not followed his expertize in medical care. I also have lost 110 lbs with his encouragement and suggestions. He helped my daughter who had ADHD and made her life so much easier and happier. He cared about my husband and kids and going to the doctor was a good experience for all of us. Dr. Robert Hughes is a one in a million family doctor and I highly recommend him for your families care because he knows what he's doing and HE REALLY CARES and GIVES GOOD CARE.
He has been my doc for over 10 years, not overly warm and fuzzy but he is civilized and knows what he is doing. Listens well and asks questions and does expect you to participate in making decisions about your health, don’t choose him if you are passive and simply want a mechanic. If you stick with him, you will be well served and healthier. Wait times can be an issue because he is heavily engaged with the training of Residents, but be patient and you will be rewarded.
He never makes you feel rushed and he does listen but . . . the problem is never solved or fixed. He always wants to wait until the problem is worse then we will do something about it. I put off seeing a doctor and when I go in I expect to FIX or make an attempt to fix the problem. More than once I have been given a quick diagnosis and one of those was a total misdiagnosis. I'm tired of problems being put off and I am looking for another doctor.
aweful. LONGEST wait times. He makes you feel like you've done something wrong or that you're stupid for saying the things you have. His front office and back office staff are wonderful so at least that is positive. If you want your doctor to treat you like an insignificant number and Dr. who writes the same thing in your medical chart he's the one for you!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
