I should have looked up the reviews before I let my Mother go see this Quack!! The appointment was set up by a General Surgeon who my Mother was seeing for Esophagus issues. She had some tests done and we were told that the GS set her appt with Dr Hantke for results. Yes strange we thought but he is the Professional so we went. My Mother is 76 yrs old with many health issues but her throat has been hurting and feeling like it is swollen and her tongue has been swelling she feels. Dr Hantke walked in, asked my Mother what was going on. We told him she was referred and we came to get Test Results. He was instantly irritated and said he only goes as far as the throat and doesn't know why the GS would send her to him. At that point he could have said "sorry for the inconvenience but I cannot help" but NO he checked her ears, nose and throat (so he can get paid by. Insurance I'm sure of it) and said " I shouldn't say this but I will anyway. You can't smoke for 40 plus years and then come to me and say your throat hurts, that's on you really". I should have said more to him but we just took my Mom out. She was crying and upset. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

I've had a great experience with Dr Hantke- he is knowledgeable, to the point, clear, concise, and direct. He also takes some of the hardest/complicated cases in the county so I'm wondering if that's part of why there may be some of the lower reviews.His staff is very patient and kind, going above and beyond for me through my consultation experience. I've been trying to get this surgery for 6 months and even had 2 other consults with other ENTs and there were problems every time with them completing the surgery - I really felt relief working with Dr Hantke and his team/staff

Dr. Hanke Was Great! My primary physician tried 2 or 3 time to clean out my ears but could not get out my ear wax, that is heavy due to my American Indian heritage. Doctor Hanke did not mess around, he used a probe & gently removed ALL the ear wax, I could hear better immediately! I always recommend Dr. Hanke to all my friends, You Will Love Him...

I could give a 0 star, I definitely would. Weeks ago I went in for bilateral hearing loss. I'm only 32 with no reason for this sudden hearing loss. No accidents, no loud noises and no trauma in any way. A hearing test showd I have inner ear damage / nerve damage and hearing loss in both ears. Dr hantke could have caused my hearing loss to be permanent due to lack of care and interest in my very rare case. I was given a very low dose of steroids to "try " to get my hearing back and was told that if it didn't work, he didn't have a plan B. He did not refer me to another ent for a second option, he didn't refer me to a specialist for a case he couldn't figure out. He just sent me away and never even asked for a second appointment to be scheduled or even a follow up hearing test!!! What the HELL kind of doctor would just let a patient leave with absolutely no answers in this situation and not offer any other treatment or options to get the hearing loss back?!?! Since then, I've seen another ENT that actually cares who referred me to a specialist that is now giving me steroid ear injections and doing everything in his power to help me get my hearing back. This doctor informed me that the steroid dosage that Dr. Hantke gave me was extremely low, especially in my case since I have bilateral hearing loss. Also you should be informed that when hearing loss happens, the first couple weeks are the most important in order to regain you hearing loss. Don't waste your time going to Dr. Hantke. If you ever have an emergency or any hearing loss, West coast ENT was the better option. That's who referred me to the most amazing specialist that actually shows compassion and care for their patients. Dr. Hantke should not be in this business if he doesn't show care and attention or proper treatment to his patients!! And on top of that... his front office staff girl was extremely rude and cold. Not welcoming at all. Horrible office !

Very impressed, humorous, extremely knowledgeable, all-around good guy. Explains everything in non-medical terms you can understand. I went in as a first time customer, immediately noting people of all ages in the waiting area, that was reassuring. Each time someone left, I noted they had a smile on their face. I thought, "wow, I made a great choice here." Turned out I was right on in that observation. He unclogged my ear canal which was really hurting, hardened ear wax like rocks. Instantly, I could hear again, better than I have in years. I later learned he volunteers to help in the community. As a skeptical of professional doctors, I am a harsh critic, David deserves 5-stars +. Seriously, you'd be wise to pick him for your ears too, hear what I am saying?

I saw Dr. Hantkey for nasal congestion issues. Dr. Hantkey did do a standard exam which consisted of looking in nose and throat. Dr. Hantkey spent very little time discussing my nasal issues, instead, he focused on my weight as the issue. I am overweight, however, my problem is with my left nostril plugging up at night. He offered up no real suggestions except using Advair which baffles me because Advair's labeled use is for Asthma and not congestion in the nose. I did some research and discovered several Journal articles warning against the use of Advair in adults over 30 due to long-term side effects that can be significant, oh and also my allergist strongly advised me never to take Advair. Dr. Hantkey knew nothing about the Advair warnings. I also researched nasal congestion and weight correlation and found nothing in any recent medical literature. Dr. Hantkey is a Fat Shamer! If you are overweight stay away from Dr. Hantkey. Any response Dr. Hantkey?

My primary care Dr. referred me to a specialist. She even warned me that I might end up with him. He was the rudest Dr. I've ever gone to. I went in for ear pain and tinnitus and at the time was having headaches. All he said to me was "I'm not a neurologist". Complete waste of my time. The receptionist could have been more friendly as well.

Treated at Walkin Clinic in Florence, Oregon, at Peace Health, as a followup to an ER visit. She was very professional, knowledgeable, informative and approachable. A very good experience.
