I love Dr. Steyer! Most MD's that I have met are clueless about eating healthy (she is vegan, her personal choice), and on top of that she is a, avid hiker, runner and cyclist (I think). I haven't had any serious illnesses on visits, so I can't attest to that, but for my routine visits she walks in with a smile, and is so pleasant to talk to. She says she teaches vegan cooking classes too!

I had a primary care physician at Oak Street Medical who never listened to me. My blood pressure would skyrocket when he came into the room, because I disliked him so much. Because of the shortage of primary care physicians after the passage of the ACA, I could not change doctors...but then he left for a different practice, and Dr Steyer joined the staff at Oak Street Medical. I got her because she was new to the practice, but she actually listens to me, and if she makes a mistake, she admits it and apologises. She has been a terrific primary care physician for the past few years. She has managed to get me to lower my cholesterol by altering my diet. She does not shame me. She has treated me through a car accident, and a nasty fall, and provided the support and helpful suggestions for life changes that really work. I hope she stays at Oak Street Medical, because she's the best primary care doctor I've ever had.

More interested in my husband than me the patient!!

Dr. Steyer was great in helping me with injuries and ailments. From a shoulder injury (excellent help and quick referrals), to blood pressure, to general care, she was kind, helpful, and showed genuine concern. My only issue was that she is hard to get an appointment with at the clinic, as she is also up at the Hospital in town pretty often. Staff at the clinic behind the desk are sometimes distracted and aloof. I'm sure if I were a more regular customer, they would know me? I would ignore, sincerely, the other review. Dr. Steyer was great.

This Doctor is more concerned about herselfthan she is for her patients. She's scared to death to give anything for pain for fear of the DEA coming down on her even though she has nothing to fear at all especially when it's an obvious thing which the law allows for. So if you're in any pain this is not the doctor to see. Her bedside manner is terrible.
