MIchelle L Birdseye Md's Online Review Report Card

My mom was recently in the hospital due to side effects of her cancer, which is terminal. Dr Birdseye came in and was so loud and obnoxious, telling my mom she should basically give up and make some major decisions like right now. My mom was in no position or mood to talk about her end of life plan in that moment (with someone she does not even know!) but Dr Birdseye kept pressuring her. I told her we need to talk about it and I finally got her to leave. She was just not a compassionate person at all. She did not present like she was a doctor either. I just have a bad feeling about her. I am sorry to say that because I am sure she is trying to do a great job but I think she should be working in a different discipline where she can be more in people's faces and shout at them.

Doesn't listen doesn't care. Acts like she's to busy to be bothered

My grandmother would of died if a family member wasn’t present 24/7. My grandma has had a history of seizures in her old age, but hadn’t had one for the past three years since being on medication for it. Unfortunately she had another one and was taken into emergency. Because My grandmother is 97 Birdseye had already decided in her mind my grandma was going to die and she put it into all the nurses minds too. Because all of this the care was very poor and if a family member wasn’t constantly there to aspirate my grandma she would of choked and died, which almost happened in one instance. There is a lot more to the story and a complaint was made but overall Birdseye seemed like she could careless and let my grandmother die cause in her mind my grandma would never recover. It’s been a few months later and my grandma is fine and back to normal.

I have never been so badly treated during a hospital stay. She accused me of being a slacker, reminded me she had 17 other patients on that floor. Would not answer any questions from me or family. Came close to raising her voice when speaking to us. Had relative on speaker phone to hear diagnosis (there wasn't one) and when asked to reply to relative's question on speaker phone she flew into a temper and walked out. Checking with others who have had her, I find out that she is as rude to everyone. The stress level she provokes is unacceptable

Found that this Dr. is not following the AMA guidelines, and therefore, risking patient/doctor confidentiality!!!!

I found Dr. Birdseye's method to be extremely efficient, while also understanding of my daughters needs and wants. I was hysterical in the waiting room, and after I saw Dr. Birdseye, my fears were allayed and I saw the situation to be better than i'd guessed.
