Monica Zilkoski's Online Review Report Card

As someone who has had a personal experience with foot doctors, I feel it is important to share my experience regarding a specific practitioner. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with Dr. Monica Zilkoski, who works at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Zilkoski provided subpar service to my stepfather during a workman's compensation case, which caused a lot of stress for my family. I believe it is crucial for individuals seeking foot care services to be aware of my experience so that they can make informed decisions about their healthcare providers. While my experience with Dr. Zilkoski may not be representative of her overall practice, I strongly encourage patients to do their research before selecting a practitioner. In my personal experience, the level of service provided by Dr. Zilkoski was unacceptable, and I hope that by sharing my story, I can help others avoid similar experiences.

Dr. Zilkoski fused my great toe & after the long non weight bearing period, I've had zero pain. That is especially good news since I had the other one done by a doc in Corvallis 2 years ago & I will have problems with it forever because of what he did. Don't take chances with any other foot surgeon. Just put your foot in Dr. Zilkoski's capable hands ?? you'll be glad you did.

1 1/2 years after injury the fractured bones in my foot are not healed and I am a cripple thanks to Dr. Zilkoski who couldn't be bothered to do her job correctly. I have 3 fractured bones in foot, when I saw her she sent me to 6 weeks of physical therapy on fresh fractures in the foot. The physical therapist said after 6 weeks of pt that the PT had done no good. Dr.Zilkoski also falsified the medical record when she stated in the record that the bones were healed while the same day in the exam room looking at the x-rays she told me again that the bones were healing. She released me as a patient and told me to "just walk on the foot". After 5 months of extreme pain and lameness in the foot, I saw another Dr. who took x-rays and told me the foot still hurts because the bones are not healed, he provided an orthopedic "walking boot" and wanted to get a machine to help the bone tissue grow, but the insurance denied because of Dr. Zilkoski's false medical record that the bones were healed. Please for your own health and safety stay away from this person - she does not deserve to be called a Dr. in my opinion. I would give no star but can't submit without something there.

I’ve had my foot operated on 3X by different Drs , her being the third and She was by far more efficient, knowledgeable and competent of them all. Plus the surgery center was amazing. Michele O’Sullivan

Lobby staff were abundant and very helpful with the computerized check-in. Wait time was disturbingly long--no one came out to let me know Dr Z''s schedule was running late. I was escorted back to see Dr Zilkoski 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. However, Dr Z was personable, knowledgeable and informative. She explained the x-ray and her surgical plan. She listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I feel confident that she will do her very best to resolve my foot issues.

Dr. Zilkoski has treated a serious foot condition for me for several years. This included surgery. I have experienced excellent, attentive and caring service from not only the doctor but the staff as well. I would definitely recommend her.

She repaired my Trimalleolar ankle fracture. I walk without a limp and can do pretty much anything other than "leap tall buildings". Her bedside manner is quiet. Dr. Z is definitely a highly skilled physician, I would definitely recommend her.

My recovery was set back several weeks because of her diagnosis and recommendations for treatment on the first appointment. On my follow-up appointment five weeks later, she was at a loss for words in comparing x-rays that should have shown improvement but did not, and passed me on to Dr. McCormick instead of trying to help me from this point forward. Very disappointed in the care I received - or rather did not receive - from her.

She explained my condition thoroughly and surgery was scheduled promptly. The staff in the office was courteous and I was able to get my lab work done the same day. All of my questions about the surgery - Achilles tendon repair - and the recovery were answered.
