Scott Johnson's Online Review Report Card

I have had Dr. Johnson as my PCP for years. He is very thorough, thoughtful and personable. He seems up on all the changes in his field, often suggesting state of the art medications or treatments. He has me come in regularly for lab work and follow-up conversations about my chronic conditions.

I am now 34 years old, when I was 24 I went to OMG on 18th and Pearl to be seen for horrible headaches, sensitivity, and a weird smell, none of which ever went away. For 7 visits, (not an exaggeration, literally 7) I went in to see Dr. Johnson for help and was told time and again that I needed to go home, rest, take some Tylenol, and take it easy for a day or two. All along I told them that it was a serious problem that was not being taken seriously. Finally on my 8th visit I demanded a new Doctor, who was as amazing as could be and sadly has moved in the years since. I told her the story and then she literally gasped at the X-Ray results. Every one of my sinus cavities was infected to the bone. 2 years, $200,000+, 5,000 or more Oxys, and 2 trips to Rehab I was free of my Sinus infection. But a whole other problem was created. Guess 24 and heavily tattooed is a bad look when you're in constant pain and want it to stop. It wasn't over-prescribing. That is how the drug pandemic started

I always enjoy seeing Dr. Johnson. He is attentive, comforting and encourages me to ask questions. He has a very pleasant demeanor and is kind.

I saw Dr. Johnson after my PCP at OMG retired. He made a great show of listening, consulting my charts, and describing how he would follow up. I never heard from him again. In the meantime, I got a second opinion from anther Dr, who actually read my test results, and saw that I was severely b12 deficient. Because of this Dr, I suffered a lot for nothing.

Dr Johnson really takes the time to listen to what you have to say.

An incredibly inept “doctor”. Misdiagnosed me for C Dif and later for back fractures. I went through shear hell. C Dif for 10 months and fractures for 1 month. 4 visits each. In both instances I was finally diagnosed correctly by a substitute.

I always feel like I'm in good hands.

I have been sick for 3 weeks; I finally break down and pay my co pay, for after hour care, on Saturday at the Crescent road location. I have a hacking cough, infection in both eyes and an icky, thick green mucus filling my head. After a brief examine of vitals, he writes a prescription for antibiotics. No information or suggestions for relief, so in the hallway I ask, about my eyes, and cough syrup........he said I should feel better in 5-7 days! No mention, if I am contagious. I told him I had been using Clorox wipes and gloves to prepare my own food, I was so disgusting. Saturday and Sunday, no relief from the coughing. So Monday at 9 am, I called and Dr Scott Johnson�s office left a brief message for the nurse. I kid you not, at 5:29PM, I am called and told I need to follow up with my pcp ( who knew, that stands for �Primary Care Physician�), if that was important, you would have hopped the person, you just paid a couple of hundred dollars to, might have fit that in our 5 minute appointment. When I pushed, telling that my �PCP� was on vacation and it is 5:30PM, the nurse said she would check with the doctor. Dr. Scott Johnson informed her, that because I take Hyrocodone for nerve pain, he could not prescribe cough syrup. So, did he give me antibiotics, because he couldn�t prescribe cough syrup? It is a way for OMG to get more money from its patients? I am so angry! And if I was trying to bet the system to get cough syrup, don�t you think I would be smart enough to go to a doctor outside of the Oregon Medical Group.

Inept office staff, avoid. I have pre-existing health conditions that mean I need to nip cold congestion in the bud with decongestants or it escalates hard and fast. I called their office at 8:20 Monday morning and requested an rx; it's now Wednesday night and my pharmacy still doesn't have the prescription even though I know the doctor approved it on Tuesday. I've called them back twice and so has my pharmacist, NOTHING. I now have a painful ear infection I could have prevented. Even the best doctor can't treat patients well if his office is poorly run.

Dr Johnson is always there to listen treat and/or research any issue you have. He truly cares and only recommends what is necessary for the well being of his patients. I wish I could duplicate him.
