I was very impressed with his kindness & the thoroughness of the exam. It's been years since a doctor has taken the time to actually listen to me & to perform a thorough exam to rule out any potentially life threatening disease, or malady. He explained everything to me, without making me feel like I was incapable of understanding. He also made follow up calls to me to see how I was doing. How often does that ever happen-never in my experience!

Dr Koester is kind, thorough and relaxed. He devotes time to you and your concerns. It's easy to discuss medical issues with him. His approach is practical and straightforward.

I got so tired of having to beg for tests when I knew there was something wrong. I got tired of wondering if or when his office was going to call back. I got tired of waiting forever in the waiting room just have the doctor spend 5 - 10 minutes maximum with me. Got tired of being treated like a whiny old woman when I rarely went in and never for anything that was not an actual problem which only we only found that out after months of begging for simple things like xrays and then he seemed to be pleasantly surprised there was a problem. Made swear of doctors for the most part. Saves me and my insurance company money.

I think I've been going to Steve, give or take the couple years I lived in Tillamook, for a couple decades. He's a gentle man. He's a patient man. He's been putting up with me for all this time, after all!I have a disability that has a whole lot of pain involved. I've been to two different pain management clinics, about a half dozen neurologists...heck, one of THOSE actually fired me as a patient, because he'd run out of things to do...Steve is THERE. He's supportive. He will sit and talk with me forever, if that's what I need...and he LISTENS. That, to me, is one of the things a doctor should MOST do...I wish I could say GO SEE HIM!...but he's now been in practice so long that he's no longer taking patients. However... If you were to go see one of the OTHER doctors at the Oregon Medical Group Southtowne office, they're awfully darned good, too! *nodding happily*
