I highly do not recommend this pompous asshole! He does not care about your problem. I am confused why he is even in this field! He does not deserve even one star. I know of a few people who have had bad experiences with him. He will tell you that you need physical therapy for your pain. I saw this douche twice and he sucks.

Overwhelmingly shocked by how unhelpful this provider is. Would give 0 stars but have to leave something. Doesn’t listen, was cutting me off to inform me the pain in my injured shoulder isn’t what I say it is and there’s nothing can be done without doing tests or even looking at it. Also wrote wildly inaccurate progress notes about my visit. My PCP is in the progress of referring me to someone else for my Injury. I’m fortunate to have an incredible PCP! Come to find out he’s also the reason my disabled nephew’s leg and foot is crooked after surgery, saying it’s fine and doesn’t need to be straightened since he doesn’t walk. Go to this guy if you want to be ignored and told you’re fine without being looked at. My 6 year old has been more helpful than this person. Just WOW.

I have seen him and I have 2 friends (married couple) who have seen him. We are all healthcare professionals. They both had double knee replacement surgeries. I had an undiagnosed foot problem. In my case, he was abrupt and dismissive. Not only was I not helped, but I left feeling emotionally abused as well. Neither of friends had this experience with him. I can only conclude that he is inconsistent in his approach to patients and if you look right, have the right problem, and catch him on the right day, you will be satisfied.

He is a great doctor, the nurses & staff are also friendly. I saw Dr. Whittum in the Williamstown office & he was very friendly, listened to me, and told me about the hand surgery that I would need. Before he would do a surgery, he wanted me to see a primary doctor because things may have shown up. He was right. I have other things to attend to. My pre-op visit ended up w/ a cortisone shot & he was not upset that we needed to cancel the surgery & the OR 2 days later.

I found Dr. Wittem to be thorough and attentive. I trust his diagnosis and I feel he respected what I had to say.

Didn't ask me any questions, condescending, didn't help my problem, said I was too young to have an issue

Told me that since I am young there is no way I had a problem, extremely condescending, do not go to him.

Extremely poor communication about essentials. He failed to inform me about the recovery process and later dismissed my concerns about post-op nerve complications, stating that my problem "has nothing to do with the surgery," was "collateral damage that has nothing to do with [the bones he operated on]" and that I was at fault for not doing proper recovery exercises. Having sought a second opinion, it is clear that my nerve issues are directly related to the injury and procedure he performed.

Excellent follow up and care.

Poor guy, he needs a personality transplant - Not sure his skill level can overshadow his elitist manner. He seems a very unhappy fellow. Maybe he should have chosen another line of work.
