List of Hawthorn Walk-In Center's Reviews
Setting the gold standard of mental health walk in care. Even in the middle of a crisis, I couldn't help but notice the commitment these folks have to helping those in need. Every one of the individuals I interacted with treated me with kindness, compassion and amazingly anticipated my needs according to my circumstances. During a crisis this type of care is what is really needed, along with the knowledge & expertise in understanding psychiatry & mental health...Much gratitude to each of them.
Kind, supportive staff who are highly intelligent and have a very good understanding of mental health and mental illness.
They were all super nice & treated me with respect and I did feel I was listened to, but overall not the help I was expecting. I thought it would ultimately lead to some type of meaningful therapy, but all it really is, is someone to listen to you right now (hence them calling themselves a crisis center) and then peer support calls & help with applying to OHP & therapy referrals.
He saved my lifeWhen I was at my worst
They have a "client-centered" policy which means they will ONLY take into account what the client says. Anyone who has experience with Mental Illness can tell you the "client" doesn't always know what they need or what is best for their treatment. For instance, someone with Bipolar I, may have grandiose and delusional ideas that nothing is wrong or they're just "stressed out" (that's their reality). When asked what their needs/wants are, they cannot truly answer that question.
Really helpful. I felt totally listened to, heard, and most importantly understood. I went to Providence St. Vincent after this and that was an AWFUL mistake. If you're really in need of help, these people are really good at understanding exactly what you need. My counselor was originally assigned to me to assess my safety and she spent extra time counseling me and making me feel comfortable because she could tell that was actually what I needed. I can't wait to work more with the Hawthorne walk in center and they even offered to call me to check in on me after my horrible experience at Providence.
I was really excited to hear about the Hawthorn walk-in Center. I've been left behind several times with mental health before. I went last Thursday and was full of hope when I left the meeting I was told I would get a call the next day with resources, and possibly medication and scheduled follow-up appointment. 4 days later I still haven't heard anything. When even the emergency Mental Health facilitators just forget about you it really makes it clear how worthless people feel you are in life
I hated this place it was the worst experience of my life I went in after having my son and going through postpartum and among other things and the staff besides the peer support and the receptionist people were very ride didn't listen to me and rushed me the whole time I didn'teel listened to or taken seriously at all.i feel like I got no help I actually felt worse after going then I did coming in. I would never recommend this place and I will never go again
Extremely kind and supportive... Even before I've seen anyone!Upon coming here, I talked to the staff and they were soft and very warm. Their services are FREE if you have no insurance!Afterwards, someone came out and asked everyone if they wanted any snacks and offered drinks as well. This would be a 5 star review if they charged for their services but the fact they this is open to everyone wished I could give 10!
I was desperate to find a doctor for my daughter's acute anxiety disorder, but days passed without much luck, but I finally found this clinic, the lady told me I could bring my daughter in anytime, they take all insurance. If no insurance they will cover the cost. I couldn't held back my tears... I felt they are life savers... It is beyond words how much appreciation I have to them!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
