I have seen Dr Bastola about 4 times a yr for the past 4 1/2 years and I am very happy I switched. I had a problem with my breathing and had brought it up to other drs over the course of 6 yrs, gave me some asthma medicine sent me home, didn't help. The first day I met Dr Bastola I brought this up and he said "let's find out" he had x-rays taken of my lungs to find out I had an enlarged diaphram with my stomache protruding thru pushing on my left lung. Needless to say I had some serious surgery done. The point is he listens to what you have to say, I am very pleased with him. He never makes you feel rushed.

Dr Bastola is the best Dr I’ve ever had. I wish he was still in Clear Lake, IA. I haven’t found anyone as good & knowledgeable as he is, he truly cares about his patients.

Three years ago, I suffered my third bout of viral meningitis. A few days after being released from the hospital I received a call from the Salem Clinic. I was asked if I had seen a neurologist yet. Not knowing I needed to see one I said no. They asked me to come in and see Dr Bastola. I was a bit hesitant as he was not my regular physician. I was overwhelmed with how knowledgeable he was about my health. He had called several neurologists and infectious diseases doctors throughout Salem to better understand my diagnosis of Mollaret’s meningitis. For him to take the time to understand my condition and to explain the information to me was very comforting.

Dr. Bastola was my PCP until I moved out of state. I hope to move back to Oregon as soon as possible and, when I do, I hope Dr. Bastola is accepting more patients. He is compassionate and is very pro-active and thorough regarding patient diagnosis and treatment. I find myself comparing other doctors to Dr. Bastola. He raises the bar on patient care.
