After a very long uncomfortable 6 week wait appointment was Rushed and incomplete

Came in for a 2nd opinion with an eye issue. His staff was very friendly and he described what I needed and took the time to reassure me that it was something that I needed for my problem. Though I am nervous about the surgery, he reassured me that he does this surgery and it is successful for people.

Dr. Gattey is known as a top-notch surgeon but in the office, he doesn't communicate well. Each time I returned after a complication from Cataract Surgery...I heard something I had not heard before. I have had a couple appts. where he did explain things...but after this complication, he seemed almost unwilling to talk.. "" You cannot expect your vision to be what it was when you were 25"....of course not, but how about better than when I first came in...????

Did cataract surgery in both of my eyes. First eye for close up vision turned out fine. Distance eye distance had focal point of 3 1/2 feet. Had second surgery on both eyes to help. Still bad distance vision in that eye. I suggested possible “mix-up” on implant, he said “not possible”. Nice nurse tried to get me a contact that would help with street signs on my way driving home, and Dr. Gattey said there were other patients and I would have to make another appointment if I were dissatisfied.

I lost my ophthologist of 29 years and am so glad I have found Dr. Gattey and the whole clinic in Lake Oswego. Have been seeing Dr. Gattey for over a year now, as well as one of the surgeons. Can't say enough about them. The doctor is pleasant, obviously knows what he is doing, takes time to explain things well and answers all my questions. The office staff is helpful and the assistants are excellent. They have all made my change to a new doctor very easy. Highly recommend.
