Asante Urology Medford's Online Review Report Card

I had bladder surgery in May. I called in June and reported that I had a bladder infection. I was prescribed antibiotics over the phone. The infection came back with a vengeance. I called on 09-25-23 and again on 09-26-23 and reported my pain level as an 8. Late on the 26th I received a call back (finally) from medical assistant Sarah. She was very rude. She told me to call my PCP, or go to urgent care. She is a rude, uncaring person. I am currently looking for a new urologist.

Had the best care from Dr Loos and Dr Bacher. Never a problem.

Post surgery after care is atrocious. My 77 year old dad had surgery Wednesday. At discharge, he still had sever, painful spasms every 10-15 minutes. Nurse alerted Surgeon who said give him another pain pill and discharge. His Catheter was flowing, so all was good. The Nurse suggested I call urology in the morning if painful spasms still occurring. I called the Urology office twice on Thursday and Friday morning as soon as they opened. All 3 times I explained my dad was still have extremely painful spasms several times an hour, continuous and steady leaking from catheter causing sanitation issues. I was concerned something was not right. The pain pills were not touching his painful spasms. All 3 times I was told the staff are very busy and will get back to me when they can. I explained Friday morning that if no one calls me, I am taking my dad to the ER. No one called me until 1pm Friday afternoon. The call was to schedule either Friday or Monday to have the cath removed and testing. I said Today or I was taking him to ER. I explained, AGAIN, for the 4th time what had been happening for 2 days. She said she need to go talk with the Dr. and would call me back. An hour later, 2:15 she calls me back to see if I could bring him in at 3pm.We go in, cath is taken out and he has immediate relief. The PA does tell me there is a prescription that would have relieved or reduced the spasms!!! Why? Why was this not prescribed in the hospital? Why did no one call me back when I call the day after surgery with my concern for my dad? Why did my dad have to endure this painfulness for 2 days? Apparently because Asante Urology is toooooo busy to care for their patients. Unbelievable lack of post surgery care, lack of response to many calls with concerns of extreme pain. My mind is blown. Needless to say, any further care from Asante Urology for any of my family and friends will be second guessed of where else to go.

I always tell people if you want some of the best care go to medford, cant say enough good about the people who work at assante they are truly Amazing..

Christina is a phenomenal doctor, great listener and the people working with her are so kind. They really let you take charge of your health.
