Early on a Saturday morning I had a severe pain in my abdomen. The Asante ER team were excellent. Quickly diagnosing the issue as inflamed gallbladder. Dr. Traul was called in for the orthoscopic procedure. He met my wife and I in the ER, spoke with us about the procedure and assured us it would go well. We met again in surgery prep. He described the procedure we were about to begin, clearly, as thoroughly as needed, how long it would take and when I could go home. All of the doctors, nurses, aids and the anesthesiologist were terrific. I saw Dr. Traul briefly in the operating room and he was cordial and comforting. Shortly after I awoke he stopped by the say how it had gone. He explained that my gallbladder was filled with stones and inflamed which made it oversized and a bit more difficult to get out through the small incision. Post surgery I was relatively pain free, taking only one pain pill. Dr. Traul visited me early Sunday morning when he discharged me.

My husband had cancer surgery, involving his rectum, colon, and bladder, Doctor Traul, and Doctor Macleod worked side by side, they both, did a great professional job, involving a lengthy, complicated surgery. We thank them!

Better yet, when the Asante nurse finally called us at 9:35pm she admitted the procedure and care of my father had been a mess and Dr.’s like Dr. Traul are simply being lazy and refusing to update families locked out of the hospital so they give a momentary debrief to a groggy patient still half under anesthesia and walk out the door. Again, shame on you Dr. Traul. Shame on Asante for tolerating such poor behavior.

In August of 2016 this doctor decided to do a surgery on my mother that was completely unnecessary and caused her an extreme amount of suffering. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and her CT scan showed she was not a candidate for surgery. He scheduled is 6 hour surgery it only took less than an hour for him to come out and tell us what the CT scan clearly should have told him as a professional. I witnessed my mom suffer for 30 days in ICU you because of this. I will never
