It's been many years since I saw Dr. Harris, but I remember her still. I started seeing her when I was 12 and continued seeing her into my adulthood. She was always very kind to me, very careful and patient, because it always took me a very long time to calm down and relax during our exams. She even loaned me a book of hers with Georgia O'Keefe paintings. I don't know if she knew, but I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, so those kinds of exams have always been very hard for me. But she did her best to always communicate with me and be very careful and very patient, and I still remember that. I ended up having some tumors on my ovaries so I had a hysterectomy, and after we figured out the right replacement hormones, I had no reason to keep seeing her. But years later, I still remember her and I'm still very grateful I was lucky enough to have her as my doctor as I grew up. She's a wonderful person and a wonderful doctor.
