List of J Alan Frierson's Reviews
Will never take my kids to him. Having issues with my two months old and he completely disregarded what I had to say and wouldn't explain anything to me. He was rude
Never ever had a problem here as I have in other offices I will never ever take my kids anywhere else. Amazing doctors and staff ❤
Horribly rude office staff. Every single time in the last few years I have been taking my son they are rude and horrible. Building is depressing. Dr frierson does not listen to patient or parent. They are horrible with refills. I cant wait to be fully switched over to options so we can leave. I would not reccomend at all. He is very hard to understand and fast talks you out of there as well. Probably worst experience I have had or my son have had.
Great staff and doctor. Easy appt scheduling. They cared about my child's health. Dr. Frierson did not discount my thoughts about what the problem could be. I appreciate the ability to be very involved in my sons healthcare without a provider demanding I do what he thinks I should.
Dr. Frierson examined our newborn in the delivery room. We didn't get to choose the doctor. Following the visit his office sent me to collections twice even after my insurance company paid the bill. I did not recieve proper notification of what was owed to the office. The office manager is a trainwreck lacking in interpersonal skills. This was a horrible experience that took months to resolve. Just decline this doctors assistance and definitely don't seek him out as a pediatrician.
Will never go back. Lied to me about a vaccine being required for school admission. Did a hearing exam (that I didnt request) that insurance doesn’t cover and billed me $80 for it.
Dr. Frierson cleared our newborn to be taken home from the hospital. We did not get to choose him. His office sent a bill and my insurance paid it. I was then sent to collections by the office manager/ billing department. I called my insurance company and they called her and explained to her that the bill had been paid. I called her and she said the insurance company "made no sense." She refused to remedy her mistake and months later, I'm still fighting them. This has been a horrible ordeal. DO NOT ALLOW THIS DR TO SEE YOUR CHILD. DO NOT TAKE UP BUSINESS WITH HIS OFFICE.
Dr Frierson has been an excellent pediatrician for both of our children. We have been seeing him for 12 years and couldn't be happier.
My daughter has kidney issues and if it wasn't for Heather Strickland's extreme professionalism and understanding my daughter would still be sick or worse. Every time we go into a doctor's visit with her she is nothing but empathetic and caring and very thorough I would recommend this doctor at anyone.
I do NOT recommend Dr. Frierson. After telling us that my son had a "potentially life threatening wound" in the back of his throat which Dr. Frierson said "I've never seen anything like it" it took months for Frierson to complete a referral. Then, after many phone calls to his office, we finally received the referral to a ENT Dr. that wanted to again refer us to a hospital in Portland (That's a 5 hr. drive!) before they even took time to see my son. I had to research a quality ENT Dr. locally (So. Oregon ENT) and demand a referral to them, which they did promptly (likely because of my tone). In total we visited Dr. Frierson 3-4 times and neither my wife or I were thrilled with him. His ability to explain his thoughts in terms someone without a PHD might understand is very limited. He seemed reluctant to even touch our son and when he asked our son questions he couldn't even give him time to respond. Do yourself a favor and just book your appointment elsewhere. I recommend Southern Oregon Pediatrics. Our new Pediatrician over there is AMAZING and a breath of fresh air after our experience with Frierson.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
