List of John Gallen's Reviews
Just quit seeing him after many years. The reason why is because his reluctance prescribing me Omni Pod 5. He lied saying it's not automated like Tandem, but it is fully automated as a loop system with Dexcom, just like Tandem. It doesn't had tubing, and can be put on arms and lower backs, any place like Dexcom. The best is, the inserting needle is automated and I barely felt any pain. No more bending Canulas like I experienced many times with Tandem! Causing me having super high blood sugar as the insulin never entered in my boby during those times. And it is way cheaper monthly as you don't have copay for tubing and inserting kit as DME. I alway think doctors should care for patients and should not accept any kickbacks from big Pharma, but in this case with Dr. John Gallen and Tandem, I think I was wrong. I should have gotten on Omni Pod a year ago, but he kept refusing prescribing it even though, I had asked for it numerous times, citing I am active and the pump tubing get ripped out often while exercising and also I get a lot of scar tissues under my skin due to limited inserting sites. I contacted Omnipod and they had requested prescription from him many times yet all in vein! OMNIPOD 5 IS WAY BETTER THAN TANDEM T SLIM 2, PERIOD. YOU CAN HAVE YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR OR INTERNIST PRESCIBE FOR YOU, DON'T HAVE TO USE AN ENDO WHO DOESN'TCARE ABOUT PATIENTS BUT ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY. I UNDERSTANT ENDOS ARE HARD TO FIND AND ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY HERE IN OREGON, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE FEELING FORCED AND BEING MANIPULATED BY THEM!
Dr. Gallen is the best endocrinologist I’ve had in the 39 years that I’ve needed care. He’s always professional, thorough and kind, a rare thing these days.
He is the best doctor! When I have a need for an appointment, they get me right in. He worked with me for over 2 years to get my thyroid levels down. His explanation for everything which is going on with my body is spot on. I'm grateful to be able to see him.
Dr. Gallen was my son's endocrinologist for a few years before his passing. My son received excellent care from him. Dr. Gallen was one of the few doctors who truly understood my son's medical problems and he monitored him closely. It has been a while but thank you Dr. Gallen.
He didn't treat my adrenal condition and subsequent symptoms at all. He gave me one year to get weight loss surgery, as if I overate myself to my current state when it was copious corticosteroids and adrenal failure with a side of Cushing's that caused my weight gain. Wouldn't see him again if he was the last doctor on earth, certainly there is no hope of any trust...honestly, a little kindness doesn't hurt. Listen sometime.
I've been going to Dr. Gallen for several years now. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Gallen is a life-saver. He is very thorough and kind with his clients.
Awsome Dr. He is friendly and I can communicate well with him. I trust his decisions. I see him for diabetes. Would definitely recommend this Dr. Mrs. Fitzwater Jan 2022
Dr. Gallen is an AMAZING diagnostician and has helped me find my way with my difficulties. He listens to me, he respects me, and he really hears what is best for me. I highly recommend him.
I have been trying to schedule an appointment with Dr Gallen for over a month. After 4 calls and being told that there was no referral on file, which had been sent 3 times, I was told the scheduler was on Maternity leave for the last month and they had someone else handling these. That they were a month behind. My time wasted, the referring Providers time wasted and still no appointment. I may have to schedule with my old provider now, which will cost me more money. But at least I’ll get care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
