List of Joseph Amavisca's Reviews
He is so thorough and the most caring doctor we have had in years! We feel like he has a personal interest in our health.
Has been my doctor for a few years now. He’s very upfront, and listens. If you have a concern, he bends over backwards to get you an answer. He’s a great doctor.
Doesn’t listen well. He will bring up a problem, but not see it through. He will give you a verbal referral to a specialist, but not follow it up. Nice guy but marginal doctor.
For the past 5 years I have searched for a doctor who genuinely cared about me and listened to me. I had given up on this until recently when some symptoms became severe and new ones began. Dr Amavisca is now in Oregon and he became my primary care physician. The past two visits have been the best visits I have had in forever. Dr Amavisca listened to me, he heard me, he looked at my history and had tests ordered before our visit, he explained everything and he spent almost 30 minutes in my room reassuring me that, although my symptoms and case are complicated, that he will find the reason. He let me and my family ask as many questions as we needed. I have always talked about how we needed a doctor like from years ago that truly cared about their patient and we actually found one. I feel like Dr Amavisca became a part of our team today and I am so thankful for that. I don’t know how some of these reviews could be about him because he is the exact opposite of what is described.
He's a good doctor. Easy to talk to and addresses all your little problems as well as the big ones. 5 Stars may be a little strong, but he's in a big office with a lab to back them up. As a package, I'd give them a 5 minus.
After a visit to see him, I explained I've been experiencing neck pain. Dr Amavisca was concerned and said I needed to see a Cardiologist right away, I took his advise saw one and found out that i had a clogged artery had a stent put in and now i feel great! Thanks to Dr. Amavisca, he saved my life!
Glad this dr is leaving area!!!
Dr. Amavisca is always patient with me and takes time to explain test results. I have always been pleased with him and his staff!
Was not allowed to talk. Was told he would no longer treat me even though he was not my physician. Was ridiculed for offering to pay at time of service. Was made to feel cheap and dirty and disgusting to the human race.
My teenage daughter & I started seeing Dr. Amavisca shortly after he arrived in our community. He is a wonderful physician and we are devastated that he is leaving. My daughter has asked me repeatedly that we be able to follow him to his next practice as she does not like change & is anxious and unwilling to go to a new doctor. She did not have this issue with him when our doctor retired and we switched to Dr. Amavisca's practice. We both saw Dr. Amavisca's predecessor since she was a toddler and is now almost an adult. We trust Dr. Amavisca and are now left wondering if we will be able to find a replacement that comes anywhere close to his professionalism and care. When my children were small, I worked with several physicians/surgeons in a hospital and later in a clinic. Dr. Amavisca is undoubtedly one of the most competent, friendly, caring and patient physicians I have ever known in both my professional and private life. It's pathetic and hateful for people to write awful things about a man they obviously weren't able to bully to their way of thinking or acting. And NBMC is letting go of an asset that they'll not soon be able to replace-if ever! D. Kinney

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
