My daughter had to have jaw surgery. Our experience with Shrinners was great from the second we got there. Josh, her nurse was AMAZING! She was extremely nervous and Josh put her at ease. We couldn’t have asked for a better nurse. The surgery went as expected. But us being from Central Oregon we travel over Mt Hood to get home and the pass was closed. We had stayed in a hotel the night before the surgery and didn’t have enough money to get another room. So Shrinners put us up in a really nice room in the hospital. Overall everyone was fantastic. Especially Josh and her surgeon Dr. Azari. Thank you Shrinners for everything you did for our family.

The ppl that work here are nice and very helpful but seem really racist,they made my wife and 2 year old son wait outside in the cold because they were ten mins early for an appointment,and there was atleast 7 Hispanic ppl sitting in the waiting room,April is the worst,(ot) I've ever met she never returns phone calls,my son has been waiting for equipment for 2 months because she,will not contact newmotion everyone is waiting on her,she needs to be fired!!!I would never go here they are horrible!!!!

My son was seen at Shriners when he started to lose strength in his legs. They told me that he absolutely didn't have a tethered spinal cord (my suspicion because both of his siblings and I have it) and send me away. I asked for a second opinion after all other conditions were ruled out and the rheumatologist tried to send me back to Shriners. The second opinion doctor said our first doctor was excellent and the team of doctors had reviewed the MRI and they stood by the original diagnosis of no tethered cord. She was quite abrasive and didn't bother to examine my son. One year later: My son lost the ability to run, had no knee reflex, and developed scoliosis and a neurogenic bladder. Sure enough, he had tethered cord. If we had caught it earlier, we might have saved him from permanent damage, as well as the serious depression that came from three years of suffering with deteriorating health with no help. I truly appreciate that Shriners provides care without charge. For that, two heartfelt stars. For messing up my son's diagnosis twice and making us both feel worthless: zero stars. My son finally got his tethered cord release. Within two months, he went from not being able to run to running a 7 minute mile. He scoliosis completely resolved.

My oldest daughter was born with a left side club foot and internal tibial rotation of her lower leg. When she was just weeks old we began going to Shriners Portland because the doctor in Vancouver Wa. who was treating her was retiring and also didn't have the ability to fully correct her condition. We had a family member who had previously been treated at Shriners and we were referred. My daughter had Dr. Roy as a doctor for years and as he began his retirement she was seen by others specialists for check ups etc. I'm so thankful to him, his staff, nurses and the orthotics department. Because of them most of my daughter's issues have been corrected. She had 4 surgeries over her childhood yrs and a couple were very invasive. Heal cord cut 2x and tendons repositioned. Cut and rotated leg bones supported with steel plate etc. Casts and corrective brace for yrs. It wasn't always easy but I knew they cared about her and her ability to walk right. She's 18yrs old now. Has scars and a slight limp, one side foot and calf is smaller than the other but she has thrived. She has played basketball and volleyball on school teams and has been a trooper. I'm so thankful to Shriners for her treatment and care over the yrs. Without them I don't know if she would be the success story she is today. God bless.

This is the worst hospital . They made me cry and scream at them. I'm gladly I won't go there anymore. Thank God. Until next time stupid hospital.

Amazing staff had a male nurse in surgery named Jeremy did an amazing job at making us feel comfortable. outstanding service thank you for helping our children
