STAY AWAY. Sought a new provider after I moved, I had the perfect regiment of medications and everything was balanced. They had all of my records to verify what I was taking and how long, but required I did bloodwork, EKG's, and other ridiculous and unnecessary tests just to be prescribed what I was already taking! I have transferred care 4 different times and this has NEVER been required. Further, I had 2 days of medications left, and testing would have taken weeks to complete and get results back. my provider Gidion was condescending and ego driven. STAY AWAY!

dealing with this practice has deeply disturbing. it boggles the mind that a psychiatric practice is this wantonly exploitative and downright abusive in its routine operation. i need a telehealth appointment just to get a prescription until I can get the local VA to cooperate so i can access healthcare, which always takes so much time and effort just to get someone to do their jobs and this is causing me needless distress and now they shirked their responsibilities long enough that now i must find other avenues to get my medication that i’ll have to pay for out of pocket along with a the cost of an office visit. i am really not in any position to be doing this but i have no other choice due to the negligence of the Dept of Veterans Affairs. So having limited resources, i searched for affordable telehealth services and what i read seemed to point to Sesame as a good choice for getting this need met. And it is more than apparent now that the internet is wholly untrustworthy for true information on such services - as with many other types of services, there are an overabundance of websites that present themselves as legitimate sources of unbiased reviews, even going so far as to present themselves as experts on healthcare or mental health services - but there is no chance that these are not paid to promote these services, it’s deceptive marketing dressed as healthcare review sites. I paid Sesame $130 for a same day appointment with a psychiatric nurse practitioner that was recommended as “highly rated.” It all seemed very easy and straightforward - all i had to do was wait a little over two hours, join the video visit, easy easy. but one hour before the appointment, i got a call from the provider who said they had their own paperwork that they required before the appointment time. so she emails the paperwork. it’s actually several links, one of them appearing to be their own video visit app or something. and another link was for the paperwork. and let me tell you, the amount of paperwork they demanded was outrageous, not even remotely reasonable, and also tedious beyond anything i’ve ever seen in my life - and none of was even necessary. i needed one psych appointment for a prescription. but these were highly invasive with no justification whatsoever. they wanted this done in one hour. i was in tears, it was so stressful. so i just skipping the questions and submitting documents without answering. then there was the release of information. ok, so they combine the privacy with the consent for release of information. i decided to read it and not just consent without knowing exactly what it said - so first of all, there was no possibility that i would finish reading that. it was so long and tedious but full of shockingly irresponsible demands - this was not a privacy policy, this was a threat. i wasn’t even halfway through this beast before i had seen more than enough to know that there was no way i could consent to this - they won’t take responsibility for breaches, they will mail marketing materials to your address on file, they will leave messages with anyone who answers a phone number that they call, including your employer - it’s absolutely obnoxious. and if you don’t want this, you have to formally revoke their permission in writing but you do not have the option of not giving them permission in first place because it’s an all or nothing consent. they called me 5 minutes before my appointment, and of course the connection was terrible, i could not hear a word they said, hung up, tried to attend appt, but provider no showed. i got a text that my appt was rescheduled for tomorrow for a time that is not ok. and the text was sent from a no reply number - so the red flags are never ending. and they are still texting me to do that paperwork but i have no way to respond. this is extremely concerning to the point that i feel i should probably call the state and find out if this is a legitimate healthcare provider. i have serious doubts.

I had a terrible experience as a referral from the VA. I wouldn't recommend any veterans or anyone else for that matter to this practice.

The staff here is very welcoming and the customer service provided is excellent. The provider as will make you feel at home and already heals 50% of your problems just by having a conversation with them.

I made the appointment thinking it would be in person, as they have a Portland address, it wasn’t mentioned it would be virtual except for a tiny link at the bottom of my confirmation email with virtually no other information. Turns out it’s based out of Texas, but they do virtual appointments in Oregon and Arizona as well? Wish they had been clearer about that. It’s hard to get any answers about anything. The phone numbers I would hear from were all over the place so I never knew who to call. I think their customer service is overseas, and every time we spoke on the phone they didn’t have answers for me and I could barely hear them over chickens (???) in the background. The morning of the appointment I got an invite from yet another strange number, telling me to join the call at 7 am when my appointment wasn’t even until 11. The invoice they sent me had the wrong appointment date, as well. Overall, so disorganized and impossible to navigate.
