SHAC provides med refills, diagnosis, and checkups for free. For FREE!!!!! I understand PSU students must pay for the insurance, but as someone using OHP the lack of a copay has saved me. The Doctors and nurses are kind and professional. While the office workers look to be students. The services they provide are incalculably important.

Virtually impossible to reach during literal business hours. Nice!

Don't recommend using dental services from shac. Really rushed diagnosis. The nurse/dental hygienist failed to address issues properly by brushing off my concerns, and the doctor spent 30 seconds with me in a hurried manner. After going to another dental office I realized I had other less invasive options than what they recommended here. The only positive was that the first nurse/dental assistant that took my X-rays was really nice and professional.

The staff has always been so polite and professional. They are flexible with my class schedule for scheduling appointments and my provider always offers me the option for in person or tele-health appointments. The clinic does have a very heavy caseload with such a large university so wait times on calls and scheduling out in advance can be tricky, but they really do make a strong effort and are really kind! I have a fear of needles and needed a blood draw and the phlebotomist was excellent and made sure to distract me with small talk and was super gentle. The patient portal makes it really easy and the providers all reply quickly to messages when I don’t have time to call

I’ve only had positive experiences with SHAC. I was having an allergic reaction on my eyes and was able to see someone on the same day. They were all very nice and welcoming. The dental office is also nice. I got my impacted wisdom teeth out, and they were all so sweet and helping. My student insurance also covered everything for the extraction, I was only charged $30 for a visit.

While everywhere is giving out booster shots, PSU Shac schedules the booster for 20-30 days after you call. Winter term is started, classes are full without 6 feet spacing. What's the result? We got sick before our vaccine schedule. Called for having a test, the earliest is there days after you call, and you should stay in pain and fever. Not sure why we are paying insurance and health fees. Scheduling at cvs and target was much faster. The least PSU could do was to get everyone the booster before the begining of the term or at least provide some space in classes. Wee called two weeks before the winter term. Shame. Also shame on professors who say proudly that we do not record and post videos and you should come in person.

I wouldn't have made it through my final year of undergrad without their support and services. Thank you!!

I have always had great experiences here! Truly I am so grateful to have SHAC available, and I'm going to miss it when I leave PSU. I'm always able to get an appointment as soon as I need it, and they are very thorough, non-judgmental, and helpful. I've used the health center services, counseling and psychiatry services, and dental services, and all of them have been great. They've even given me referrals to specialists when needed, and I always feel like they genuinely care, especially when confronted with unusual conditions, they are always happy to learn more about it to be most effective. They've also been respectful of my identities and experiences, which can be really hard to find in doctors, but SHAC has nailed it. Very queer-friendly--they use my name and pronouns and are clearly comfortable working with queer and trans patients. Highly recommend!

The psychiatrist, Dr. Conant, and his supervisor, Marcy Hunt are so neglectful and lacking in empathy and accountability, it’s hard fathom. For the past five months they have been incredibly slow to refill my meds. Going through withdrawals simply because they don’t understand the seriousness of needing to take antidepressants on time is so painful. When I confronted them with the problem, they showed no compassion. They only assured me the problem would be resolved. It wasn’t. Also, I saw Dr. Conant once for an initial meeting and have never heard from him since then in regards to checking in with how I’m doing. Truly they are terrible. They will deny it to the end, but they are. Why don’t they hire a psychiatrist to cover the days the regular doctor is off? Why don’t they care about people with mental health struggles the same way they would if someone had a physical illness and relied on taking their medication on time to not get sick and potentially die?
