Dr. Andrea S. Herzka's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Herzka has been my surgeon since 2017. She's kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. Her team is great as well, Halley is also very kind.. I highly recommend them for your Orthopedic needs.

I suffered bursitis pain for years and it got so bad I knew I had to see a specialist. I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Herzka at OHSU. She immediately did an MRI and found my tendon had detached from my bone. My primary care doctor had only taken X-rays. She was able to diagnose my tendonopathy correctly and scheduled surgery immediately. She said she only knew of a couple of other doctors who did this type of surgery since it is such a rare condition. I could only walk about half a block and was in excruciating pain when I climbed just one step before this surgery. When I went to the zoo for my granddaughter's birthday party it was humiliating to have to be wheeled around in a wheelchair. Dr. Herzka re-attached my tendon with two screws, loosened my IT band, drained the highly inflamed bursa and I have healed perfectly. It has been 6 years since surgery and I have my life back. I can walk, run, ride a bike and just do normal everyday things with no pain. She is THE BEST. She is highly specialized in this area and does training for other orthopedic surgeons throughout the entire northwest and the US.

Dr Herzka listened to me. She repaired my torn labrum and her follow up has been fabulous.

I don't recommend this hip doctor. I recommend trying Swedish Hip & Pelvis in Seattle instead. Dr. Herzka turned me down as a patient and told me I couldn't do surgery and she couldn't help me at all, she would NOT let me even come in for an exam. I went to Swedish Hip and the doctor told me I could do surgery and wasn't sure why they told me that. I made sure that Swedish Hip had ALL of my medical records as well. Dr. Herzka telling me I couldn't do surgery really caused me a ton of stress and depression, THANKFULLY a doctor at University of Washington told me about Swedish Hip!

Listened to my concerns, came highly recommended, professional and thorough. She did an amazing repair.

Andrea is maybe the best surgeon I have known! I have had quite a few surgeries so I have known quite a few surgeons. Andrea has a great bedside manner, but where she is greatest is in her abilities. I had a lot of damage in my shoulder which other surgeons said that they did not believe it was fixable so they wouldn't try. But Andrea said I can do it, and you know what she did my shoulders in great shape and I couldn't ask for a better doctor.

Meniscus surgery. Her team at waterfront hospital provided best experience ever, and Dr. Hertzka has lovely bedside manner and my knee is in great shape.

Best Care I've ever received. Fixed 20 years of chronic pain that others wrote off. This care was 10 years ago and I am still pain free.

No nonsense doctor that will explain your problems and options in terms you can understand. She is polite, pleasant and trustworthy. Great person to come to if you have a knee injury. I had athroscopic surgery to fix my menisous and have no complaints. My knee is still healing but relief was immediate, rehab folks at OHSU Cornell west are very good.

Great Dr. And person! She helped my teen daughter after years of hip pain from dance.
