Dr. Pike, Dentistry For Children's Online Review Report Card

I was so impressed with their level of attention and patience with my 3 year old. They are truly the best pediatric dentist we have ever been too and will continue going here.

Exceptional! We learned about Dr. Pike from another exceptional dentist before our child was even born and have always been grateful for the referral. Our kiddo, now 14-years-old, is totally cool with going to the dentist and has NEVER been afraid or anxious and I credit Dr. Steven Pike (and his father, now retired) for their exemplary efforts to create an enviroment that was always fun and non-threatening. From the in-office pets (designated day/s which were intentionally set up and created for first time 'little people' visitors) to the surprise toys distributed after each care was completed everything is/was thoughtfully designed to promote comfort and fun in how children percieve going to the dentist. And, it worked! My child had staining issues which required (by me) quarterly cleaning (or it looked like her teeth were rotting) and Dr Pike and his team made each visit fun for her. She outgrew the staining issue after 1.5 years and has happily been a routine patient of Dr Pike ever since. We also had an 'emergency' once and despite having a completely full calendar of patients, Dr Pike and team extended one of their days to squeeze my child in for care. Have I mentioned 'exceptional care' yet? The support staff has changed a bit over the years but the same exceptional care is provided by Dr Pike and team on each and every visit. I cannot recommend this practice enough and I am a VERY selective (and super happy) customer. I was very fortunate to have had Dr.Pike as my pediatric dentist 46 years ago. My daughters had Dr.Pike as their dentist. Now my granddaughters go to Dr.Pike for their dental care as well. Dr.Pike is the best there is for Pediatric Denistry. I hope he knows just how amazing he is!

I can't thank enough how Dr.Pike went above and beyond understanding my situation and helping my child get his cavity treatment plan. He and his team worked with ny insurance to get the beat treatment plan coverage. It just fills my heart thinking about it all. Doctors are known for healing patient at the physical level but DR.Pike providing emotional that support I need make me believe that goodness still exists. Now coming to the dental procedure - it was a smooth sail for my child. And I can'r thank DR pike and his team. Big appreciation and cheers for all. I highly recommend dr pike and his team. Place is super kids friendly , safe, welcoming and clean for the kids. We have been visiting DR pike since my child turned 3 for his routine checkup and look forward for many more such routine visits. Date of service - March 22, 2023.

Wow! Wow! Wow! We just got back from our first visit with Dr. Pike, and I was so impressed that I had to jump on Yelp to write an immediate review. Our kindergartener has some sensory issues, but Dr. Pike's office was absolutely amazing. They proceeded at our kiddo's pace, and were so calm and engaging that he had a ton of fun. He loved getting to feed the resident gerbils. He also got to try out some dental tools, learning how they worked. He reports that, "I really liked going to the dentist." Since this was our first visit, I had lots of one-on-one time with Dr. Pike. I got to ask lots of questions and get to know their philosophy. The office itself is relaxing and uncrowded, and they are still taking excellent COVID precautions. Finally, I was thrilled that the office was in-network for Delta Dental. Great job, Dr. Pike and crew! We will definitely be back.

If I could give this dentist and his team a thousand stars I would. I live a few hours from Portland, so I was going to a closer pediatric dentist. My 7 year old, high strung, needing to control everything daughter had the worst experience with different pediatric dentist when needed a tooth removed. That dentist told me she would not try again unless my daughter had general anesthetic. Out of sheer desperation, I called Dr. Pike's office. They offered me a next day appointment for a consult. I couldn't make it then, but took an appointment a few days later. By Tuesday of the following week, that tooth was out, and my daughter and I were just thrilled. At the consultation, Dr. Pike took his time to evaluate the situation, took his time to slowly and effectively, explain and demonstrate to my daughter that she was in charge when she was having a visit. He gave her full control. His office provided an Anxiety Reduction Program for children. His team member went through all the tools with my child, let her hold them and ask questions. They used a model to demonstrate "wiggling out" the tooth, and then did a full practice run, nitrous mask, with air flowing and everything. Normally, that would be scheduled at a different time, but since we live so far away, they squeezed us in right then and it just helped immensely To reduce her anxiety. On the day of the tooth wiggle out, his staff was just amazing, they took such time and effort to get my daughter comfortable and keep her reasonable distracted. She only needed nitrous and honestly, I don't even know if she even needed it to stay calm. The staff was just that good. She really wanted the tooth out but she was very nervous. Her dentist was just fantastic. Afterword, Dr. Pike took time to check-in with us, knowing how much anxiety we both had about the visit. Everyone was just so compassionate and amazing! Dr. Pike also encouraged me to contact him if I had any questions or anything. Later, after the visit, I did email the office with a question and asked if I could bring her in for a normal exam and if she needed work , if they could do it immediately after, since we do live so far away. Dr. Pike emailed me with-in 24 hours to let me know that " Absolutely!" They could accommodate that request. So, if you are looking for an amazing pediatric dental care team, look no further, you only need to call Dr. Pike's Dentistry for Children for compassionate, flexible and accommodating care. I won't hesitate to use his office again And recommend it to anyone who will listen to me . And especially, if you are rural and stuck with a pediatric dentist that makes you wait 3 months for an appointment, and then another 2 months to get work done, don hesitiate. The drive to Portland is worth it and his office is right off of HWY 26, just west of the zoo, so you don't have to muck about finding your way in and around Portland. Very easy on and off the highway.

I cannot say enough about this place! My son is terrified of going to the dentist, he had a not so great experience at a young age. We thankfully found Dr. Pike, he was so patient and spent so much time just working to build positive experiences for him! He now loves coming to the dentist! Everyone here is incredibly patient and kind! We highly recommend them!

I could not be more impressed. My daughter arrived for her first ever dental appointment very upset and crying…she left smiling and happy.

I really cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Pike and his team. My daughter fell at school and BROKE her front tooth and the tooth beside in in half. We have a family dentist that we started to see after my Brother in Law who was our dentist moved. I called our dentist and he was out of town and they were suggesting we go next door to a different adult dentist. My daughter was in pain and I called my BIL to ask for suggestions as I did not want her first major dental appointment to be with someone who did not really have great kid skills. All she has ever had was teeth cleanings and those already make her anxious. Without hesitation he told us to go to Dr. Pike. We were not even patients! When I called at 2:45PM and talked to Emma and explained they got us in right away. They let my daughter feed their gerbils to get her to feel calm and want to come to the back. We ended up with a true dental emergency and she needed a pulpectomy as her nerve was exposed. The way all of the staff treated her was beyond impressive. Lexi the assistant was so fun and reassuring my daughter loved her. Dr. Pike was so gentle and funny he put her at ease. These wonderful people even stayed late, over and hour and a half past closing to help with this emergency. Lexi needed to be somewhere but stayed to help my child and Amanda one of the other assistants jumped in to help! My daughter was so scared when we walked in and left asking to have this become her and her sisters new dentist! She said it was not as scary as she thought and he helped her not hurt. Plus she was pretty impressed with the prize at the end :). The fact that my child had this as her first real experience and actually cannot wait to go back speaks volumes about how truly amazing Dr. Pike and his team are. We are exited to transfer their records over and know we have the best pediatric dentist in Portland
