6 hours ago New I have never been "ghosted" by anyone in my life--let alone a mental health provider--until my experience with Mr. Borcherding. When I first reached out to High Desert Psychiatry, I was clear about what I needed from my provider. Mr. Borcherding assured me he could assist with more than just medication management. However, after our initial intake, it became apparent that medication was his sole focus. Despite this, I was willing to continue working with him. Shortly after our third telehealth appointment, I reached out to report serious side effects from the medication. I received no response. I followed up with multiple emails--still nothing. Yet, weeks later, I did receive an unexpected bill for $7.84 (this was after I had already paid his office the amount they said I owed). Strange how his office could send me a random bill; but he could not address a potentially serious health concern. Beyond the lack of communication, my experience with Mr. Borcherding was frustrating. He frequently interrupted me, dismissed my concerns, and was defensive when I expressed fears about medication--defaulting to boasting about his years of experience instead of listening. My appointments felt rushed, yet I was still charged full price. I never felt like I could openly communicate with him. If he had decided we weren't a good fit, he could have simply told me. But to completely cut off communication? That's unprofessional and unacceptable.

I originally made an appointment with Dr. Borcherding at HDPSY to appease my wife and therapist after suffering from a lifetime of insomnia and sleep-related anxiety. I had almost entirely resigned myself to suffering from this affliction until I was laid to rest for good. It suffices to say that going into our first appointment I did not take an optimistic approach. I was skeptical of taking anymore medication, and was probably a bit over-cautious. But Dr. B was kind and pragmatic, and allowed me to be cautious without making me feel judged. He answered my questions thoroughly and listened to my concerns. In addition to this, he was informative and knowledgeable. He has helped me better understand the long-term effects of insomnia both psychologically and physiologically, so that I can make informed choices about my course of treatment. In the end, I agreed that medication management would ultimately be the best course of action. My sleep has never been better. I can't possibly impress upon anyone how astonishing it is that I am sleeping eight hours a night. If anyone who reads this is still debating whether they should seek treatment from a psychiatrist for what ails them, please do what I was so reluctant to do for so many years and just make an appointment. It is worth it. And if your experience is anything like mine, you will be treated compassionately, earnestly, and effectively.

I have seen my share of therapists and the was the worst experience ever. Directly after introduction he demands money. Wasted 10 minutes of my session running out to my vehicle to get my wallet. He is the most inattentive person for his line of work you can tell that he either hates his job or doesn't care. He wasn't listening to what I was saying he was one focused on my previous iagnoses 15 years ago which I believe were inaccurate. I tried to explain why and how my mental health has changed but he wouldn't listen. Cut me off 1/3 of the way into my history. The biggest waste of money/feelings & time. Makes sense why he has so many open appointments when others are booked out months. I can only recommend going here if you want to leave feeling angry and in disbelief.

If only I would have read the review prior to seeing him. If you just need someone to call in your meds for refill, he will probably do the trick. If you have questions, concerns, or want any help at all, definitely not your guy. Quick to prescribe without any evidence or reason for that particular drug. Paid $350 for a 60 minute appointment, it was 25 minutes, and 15 minutes of that were him using the square app for payment and asking me the same questions that I filled out in a new patient paper work. Harry is a deeply burnt out man in a field that needs a bit more empathy.

I too believed he was a psychiatrist. At my very first appointment, he wanted to change my medications without seeing any of my medical records...what medical professional does that? He DID charge a lot. I NEVER went back, and I don't recommend him to anyone. IMO

WHERE IS THE 'MINUS 5' STARS BUTTON? Harry is no better than a common pusher presenting himself as someone in the healthcare business. He just wants your credit card number. And don't ask questions. He won't return your call. Talk about adding insult to injury.

0 stars if I could. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. They will steal your money without permission and if they give you Harry Borch he will do absolutely nothing for you especially if he finds out you're poor. Also don't let them tell you he is a psychiatrist. He's not. By far the worst experience I have ever had at any facility. I called to make an appointment with a psychiatrist, expecting a professional meeting with one. They set me up with Harry, who I later found out isn't even a psychiatrist in the first place. Illegal. First red flag. They assured me the appointment was covered by my insurance and that I didn't have to pay anything. I double checked and they confirmed. Now, they are stating I owe them 400$ for a 30 minute phone call with the most unprofessional, despicable, clueless man I have ever had to deal with. I told them I needed to know because I can't afford that and they blatantly lied to me. The phone appointment was the worst experience I've ever had. He acted annoyed the whole time for no apparent reason. I started with the reason for my call and he ignored me and then asked for what I just told him 5 mins later. He did this many times throughout the call. For example when I started reading a list of symptoms I WROTE, which I told him I wrote, he interrupts me and says "well anyone can just google the symptoms to adhd" and then a couple minutes later asks me what my symptoms are. He didn't know what Lamictal was, literally said "I don't know why this would work for you, but" and then proceeded to prescribe me 4 times the amount I was on. Clearly he knows nothing about it, but I've done research and I know that coming off of 100mg of lamictal is a lot more prominent than 25, so it's a big commitment. So that and the fact that he didn't know anything about it made me decide to not follow his instructions because he didn't know what it was 10 minutes ago but wants to quadruple the dose. Because that's how he makes money. That's all he wanted out of me so he hung up shortly after that. He also cut our appointment short because he got his money. When I sent him an email later disputing everything that had happened and how I was dissatisfied, he replied by basically laughing and treating me like a peasant. His email reads "Wow, thats is quite a little rant to read. First, 'I' didnt charge you anything. It all depends on what "your' insurance will cover and thereby what 'you' owe. You may choose to not pay your debts, that is up to you. But, it will go to collections and have an impact on your credit history if you choose to not pay your debts. Your other allegations are absurd and not really worthy of a comment on my part. Do what you will." I agreed to pay the 100$ missed appointment fee, and did. Now, months later, High Desert Psychiatry has decided to withdraw 100$ from my account again, when I never authorized autopay of any kind. I'm working on disputing the charge with my bank, blocking them from accessing my funds ever again, and I'm looking into legal action. They lied about Harry being a psychiatrist They lied about him having any experience at all being a professional or any type of mental professional. He should not be allowed to be in charge of anyone's mental health. All he wants is money. They lied about the payment. And then they stole 100$ from me without permission. Don't go to these people unless you want to be robbed and extremely dissatisfied. They'll probably let Harry respond to this comment and hell probably say the same thing he said in the email. But anyway don't trust these people at all if you know what's good for you, your mental health, and your bank account. I also called and went in about the charges. The lady on the phone gaslit me and offered to take a message, when I asked for who, she couldn't answer. When I went there there was one therapist who was very sweet but couldn't help me because their hours are incorrect online and she apologized about Harry and the incompetent phone person. But yes I will be pressing charges against this company and I warn anyone to stay away.

This guy is a joke. Do your research before he extorts money from you. He is late to every appointment and cuts them short and still charges full price, he will then claim you made more appointments and make you pay for them (or try). He's a nurse practitioner that is slinging drugs for money.
