List of Kelly D Chung's Reviews
she’s nice and professional
I have a very tricky eye prescription to get right, and I've had to see a lot of eye doctors over the years who very often get it wrong the first and second time. I can usually tell by now when it's going to be a problem by how the exam goes. I'm still waiting to find out how well the glasses I get from this visit will actually work for me, but every indication from my interaction with Dr Chung is that she *really* knows what she's doing. She adjusted the suggested prescription, double checked it through the testing lenses to confirm it, and mapped out a sensible plan for my eye sight needs for the next couple years! I feel very hopeful that she managed to hit on just the right prescription for the discrepancies in my vision.
Dr. Chung has performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. She has been very attentive and I have always been able to get an appointment when needed.
I have gone to Dr Chung for the last 5 years. At first I liked her because I had no problems. As time goes on I have noticed she is all about making money instead of interested in caring for her patients. She rushes patients out very quickly and never explains what she discovered or what tests revealed. If you have no problems then it is ok to see her but if you have problems (other than cataract) go see another doctor because Dr Chung cannot deal with problems. I must say that she is very experienced with cataract surgeries because she has done it for a long time.
Although she has done a lot of cataract surgeries, she doesn't seem to be able to solve other eye problems or disorders. Just like the other 2 review posts here, this is a doctor who has no compassion or patience and alwasy seems to want to hurry and get out of the examination room. Her goal is to get as much money as she could. If you do not have any eye problems it is ok to go to her but if you have or will have problems, find another doctor.
Dr. Chung was unable to explain my dry eye symptoms and offered no solutions or potential avenues of investigation. She also made very little eye contact with me, so the whole experience felt rushed and impersonal.
Dr Chung was not aware of a test her office had just preformed as part of my appointment. She did not address my main concern. When I brought this concern up she was rather vague in her response.
Dr Chung is extremely thorough. She diagnosed the reason for my dry eye problems instead of just throwing eye drops at me. I finally have relief after two years of issues, and multiple optometrist visits with other small clinics. Dr Chung has so much more advanced science and technology at her disposal. Very happy with the service and the experience.
My elderly father went to her to have a corrective surgery done to repair a surgery she had previously performed and Kelly quoted him a $2100 procedure. My father was afraid of the prohibitive out of pocket cost of the procedure and put it off for months. Today, he had the same thing done for $25 at Kaiser and can finally see again. If you have more money than sense, this is the place for you.
Had an immediate problem with my one functioning eye and Dr. Chung examined me immediately. She is well qualified, competent and kind. Can't ask for better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
