List of MIchael Su Md's Reviews
Love doctors who take the time to listen. I tend to ask a lot of questions, especially about nootropics etc. Dr. Su is very knowledgeable and gives straightforward answers. Never have I ever felt rushed. I was introduced to him by my brothers. Both of them along with their families have been under his care and I brought mine in. No issue during the past 4-5 years and have no intention on looking elsewhere. Does not like prescribing medicines and likes to try to treat the cause rather than the symptoms if possible. I had borderline high cholesterol(ratio was not good, while HDL was high LDL was also high). We tried for a little over a year through diet and exercise to bring it down. After I dropped the extra pounds and maintained a relatively clean diet etc., and tests showed no improvement he put me on a statin. The facility is nice and supports him well. Front desk and staff are excellent.
I had a similar experience as Grv C in 2017. I was sad and disappointed after my appointment.
Dr. Su was the anesthesiologist for a recent surgery and I’m still shaking my head. He so completely over anesthetized me that it took two weeks of naturopathic treatment to recover. I explained to him that I was very sensitive to anesthesia and he still overdosed me. I also woke up with an eye injury and no one will tell me what happened. Dr. Su provided the prescription for the eye drops, so I know he was aware of the injury. I understand that things happen by accident, but the fact that I can’t get a straight story about it makes me very suspicious. And then he has the nerve to send me a bill. I’ll be talking to a lawyer soon!
He is a great primary care doctor. He always replies quickly to my messages on the healthcare app his office uses, he gives me straight forward answers to any medical questions I have.. if its something he cant do he will send me to a good doctor for the issue. His offices used to me close to me but now his office is farther away but hes such a great doctor I would go to where ever his office is for a appointment. Dr. Su is a great doctor who really cares about me as a patient and I am happy to have him as a doctor.
First walked into room, did not introduce himself, The looked at my hand for 2 seconds, then turned his back to me the rest of the time, stating no new information, just printing out paper. Not listening to my concerns! Will NEVER go back!
I've had Dr. Michael Su since he joined the medical group; before he was married, and without kids. Dr. Su had a very fresh take on things back then. And now, he is seasoned, very well experienced in his field. In all the years I've been Dr. Su's patient, I've never had a complaint about his bedside manners, or his treatment of my medical issues. He is very prompt in responding to my emails. He sets me up with an appointment himself if he feels he needs to see me.I trust Dr. Su completely because we've built up a patient/doctor relationship over the years. He knows me, I know him, including his mannerism and communication style. I followed him to his new office when he moved to South San Jose. I know that if he seems impatient, it is because he is seeing one thousand more patients after me who have the same flu symptoms... Dr. Su is a great doctor. He treats me with respect and dignity. He never pushes me to do something I don't want to do. He has never misdiagnosed me.He pays attention to what he should, he is human and lets you know so, he has never missed the mark with me. And, once my two kids outgrew their pediatrician, the joined Dr. Su's circle of patients.Thank you, Dr. Su!
Dr. Su has been my primary care physician for many years, he's always been professional, courteous, and responsive when I needed to see him for normal things like sinus infections, flu, etc. But he recently ordered a test based on my family history and perhaps a bit of intuition that almost certainly saved my life. When the test came back well outside normal range, it quickly became clear that I had a life-threatening situation on my hands. He quickly got me set up with a specialist, and things move quickly from there. The surgeon who performed the corrective operation yesterday told me that if Dr. Su had not acted as he did, when he did, we'd be having a much different, far more somber conversation a few years from now. So as I sit here typing this in the hospital room, recovering from surgery, I couldn't be more thankful. Dr. Su rocks.
Dr Su does not listen to patients and does not factor in patient history. He performs unnecessary procedures.
Dr. Michael Su does not listen to patients and jumps to conclusions without proper analysis. Dr. Su performs unnecessary procedures by convincing patients he is doing the procedure for a certain reason which is not what he actually does. When giving another chance and asking Dr. Su to do what he said he would do, he makes up excuses to avoid doing his job. He also leaves you waiting while attending to other patients (not including initial wait time, I saw the doctor for 5 mins, then waiting about an hour while he saw other patients, then saw him again for 5 mins, waited another 30 mins, then he came back again for 5 mins - not worth it). Do yourself a favor and see another dermatologist, Dr. Su will leave you without answers and with many side effects so it's better to just not go see a doctor than to see Dr. Su.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
