List of Nichole Slykhous Pmhnp| Harmony Integrative Mental Health's Reviews
Dr. Slykhous seemed perfect for me, but proved to be barely a placeholder prescriber after my previous psych refused phone sessions during my COVID quarantine and I had to locate a new provider quickly. She was unable to ID my autism and 5mos into my year with her I self-diagnosed, but she had no knowledge of how to adjust the meds I had been on from my previous psych's misdiagnoses for my new accurate diagnosis, sometime in there she stopped offering therapy sessions with no notice (was simply absent from the portal options one day) and now only offers 30min med checks, none of her referrals to adjunct providers were accessible to me as autistic which caused traumatic experiences and meltdowns after every one of those intake appt attempts, she had no decent resources ready to offer autistic adults with very late life diagnosis, and our therapeutic alliance broke down tomy loss of trust and I left, because no care is better than repeated trauma and no real support and an online portal that was so complicated for me I could never quite use it properly due to its configuration and rules not making sense to me. After you send 3 messages to her, with character limits, you are locked out of being able to contact her. I had to book an appointment just to write in the message field that I was leaving her practice and she could bill me for the message/appointment since that's what her message cap is all about, but that I would not be attending it because all I wanted to do was tell her I quit her services, which are few and not adequate if you have autism spectrum conditions. What a nightmare year while I had long COVID and next to no support. If all you need is a PMHNP to continue prescribing the same old meds and you don't need help with new developments requiring more from her, then she is a sharp provider and efficient and pleasant. If you need more, go to someone who offers more than upkeep of an old plan.
Dr. Slykhous helped me more than any psychiatrist ever has. I really began to understand how to manage my life in a way that dramatically improved my challenges with work.
I can't say enough good things about Nichole. I originally found Nichole after my PMHNP at OHSU took a different position and no one was going to be taking her place. It felt a little daunting to find knowledgeable to replace managing my medication and to provide me with mental health support. There really are limited mental health resources in Portland it seems (psychiatrists are booked or you need to be part of a whole system where you are attending groups and therapy, or you have to get your PCP to manage your meds and unfortunately they're usually very busy with limited knowledge of psych meds). I know myself and have been struggling long enough with anxiety to know I need a specific psych provider. I found Nichole with a little googling and although her business seemed relatively new at the time, I really liked her holistic philosophy and integrative approach so I decided to take a chance and schedule with her. I'm so glad I did. Initially, Nichole helped me establish some good natural strategies to help me wean of my psych med. I did well for a while, but recently had some setbacks (hey 2020) and this is where her expertise and care has far exceeded any expectations I could have had. She listens to me, believes me, and always has some ideas clinically of what might be going on inside my body and strategies to address it. She referred me to a wonderful naturopath who is helping me improve my physical health while we continue to work on managing my anxiety and emotional health. I honestly cannot thank Nichole enough. She really tries to address things naturally but uses medications judiciously and appropriately to help you feel better if needed (I really hate taking any meds and she's very respectful of my decisions!). She keeps up to date with the research, looks for root causes of your symptoms, and really cares about you like a human being. I'm so thankful to have been able to contact her during some dark times and I look forward to working with her more in the future. If you're looking for a holistic, integrative, caring, and knowledgeable psychiatric provider, definitely get in contact with Nichole!
Nichole has been absolutely wonderful to work with! She is a thoughtful listener and was able to quickly yet effectively create a holistic treatment plan for me. Nichole has had excellent communication throughout the process and I highly recommend her to anyone in the Portland area.
I have to say that as an adult who was late to be diagnosed with ADHD, I cannot tell you how horribly I have been treated by the medical community that made me feel like A) I was just drug-seeking and B) that my symptoms were made up. Nichole, on the other hand, has been the first psychiatrist who did not make me feel like I was being judged or analyzed in a negative perspective. She treated me with dignity and offered more advice in one appointment than I've gotten in 2 years of trying to get help. Most importantly, she offered me non-RX resources to manage my life, get better at time management, balance hormones, and just learn to be the best version of myself. I am paying out of pocket, but I will continue to do so as long as is needed because she is just worth every penny!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
