List of Oregon Pediatrics - Ne Portland's Reviews
I took my kids here for years, but recently everytime my kids were sick I thought it was better to go straight to your pediatrician to get a Covid test! Don't go here for Covid tests. They make you pay for the virtual exam ($100) so the dr give a you a referral for a Covid test! So stupid they didn't tell me that upfront. I could have gone straight to Walgreens instead of keep wasting money just to get a damn referral, everyone getting Covid just give us the damn test. I'm just upset, I'm gonna go to bravecare, change your pediatrician. Oregon pediatrics all about referrals and money.
My child has been going here for years, Dr Blair is wonderful. Unfortunately the office staff/billing in this experience has been horrendous. My child needed a sports physical to be able to try out and participate in a school activity. We had a small window between jobs so we had to get government insurance. They completely refused my child care during that time, we had multiple conversations with Oregon pediatrics as what we needed was a pressing matter, received poor information multiple times. We were told we didn't need it since she had been seen within 2yrs, incorrect, then we waited weeks until we had secured insurance that they took again, and the morning of this long awaited appointment they cancelled the appointment, (after my child had already missed school.) due to the government insurance still showing up on their end even though we had already cancelled it. Absolutely wrong on so many levels. The staff when addressing this issue were VERY unprofessional, adding insult to injury we were called a liar. Unbelievable, we had been loyal to them for YEARS, and to be treated this way is just wild.
The doctors are pretty good. I just can't believe they get away with billing over a thousand dollars a visit! Im not sure if it's the healthcare system or this place but seems criminal for a 15 .minute appointment.
My kids and I love this office. We see a very amazing doctor who is sometimes hard to schedule with because she's very popular (not naming names!). When our doctor's schedule is full we have seen other doctors who are available. They have all been very professional, personable, and answered all of our questions. I appreciate that, whenever possible, they offer me different ways to treat an illness and don't just prescribe medications or antibiotics for everything. I can't say anything but good things about them!
My daughter has been going here since she was born. I was never really a fan of any of the doctors they never made much of an impact but I continued to go there because we were already set up. My daughters been for the most part pretty healthy but any time I call the advice nurse all they say is bring her in, I bring her in and next thing I know I have a $400 deductible to pay, I brought her in for a cough they prescribed an inhaler for asthma which was a waste of money, the cough went away on its own and she doesn't have asthma. One doctor also told me my daughter was overweight (I've seen overweight children and I'm very aware of weight and health), my daughter wasn't overweight as far as I was concerned, so I was somewhat insulted by her abrasive bedside manner. Also, being that I suffer from Crohns I'm typically barely keeping afloat in insurance deductibles, my medical bills are in the thousands but I always made good faith effort to get my daughters bills paid or if it goes to collections pay off that one first so when she needs a doctor there are no issues but I found out today that after 8 years they're rejecting my daughter as a patient due to a recent bill of $400 going to collections. What type of policy is this? Where are the doctors that actually care about people? This wouldn't surprise me from an adult doctor but these are pediatricians, what does my late payments have to do with my child's health at the end of the day. Bottom line if you're looking for Doctors who care, keep looking because these ones don't.
I've taken my daughter here since birth and I have always had a really good experience. When she's sick we've always gotten appointments same day and Dr. Hadeed has alway been so great to her. Overall, I am really happy with Oregon Pediatrics.
I would not recommend this place for pediatric care. I took my daughter there for close to a year, but found that scheduling is really hard, the billing office can be very difficult to work with, and they are always in a big hurry during appointments. The pediatrician that we saw was good, however the clinic is not. It's nearly impossible to get a timely appointment, and they urge you to see a nurse practitioner instead. By the way, they charge the same rate for inexperienced nurse practitioners as they do for doctors.
My review includes both the Clackamas and NE Portland locations, it will be lengthy, but I urge parents to read on if you're considering this practice. So over a year ago my daughter was due for her 4 year old check up, and we had shortly moved to the area about a year prior and had not yet picked a pediatrician. I had a difficult time finding one to take my insurance at the time (UHC) and decided to go here. I liked that they had the option of the Clackamas location for Saturday appts as I like avoid taking off work and her missing school as much as possible, so I scheduled her well child visit for then. I will say the front desk ladies at Clackamas were very nice and professional, and even forgiving when I embarrassingly forgot my daughter's insurance card. The nurse practitioner, Miranda, was okay, I disliked how she hardly addressed my daughter at all, but it wasn't an entirely bad experience. My daughter is a pretty healthy kid and I didn't think I'd be seeing them but once a year so I decided to stick with them. Two months ago my daughter came down with an alarmingly high fever and a very sore throat. I called OR Pediatrics (Clackamas, as they are open later on Thursdays) and left a message with the receptionist (again, very nice lady) who had the nurse call me back about 20 minutes later. The nurse was nice, but seemed extremely nervous and I didn't feel entirely confident in her reassurance to wait until morning, but since my daughter's fever eventually calmed down and she was able to sleep, I did. I made an appt at NE as they are closer. First of all, the receptionists at NE were arguing and very disrespectful to each other, which is very awkward. Also, they didn't have my daughter in their system from her visit the year prior as they "got a new system". I also work in a doctor's office, this is no excuse-you are to keep patient files on site for 7-10 years, regardless if you "get a new system". Everyone at this office seemed very annoyed to have patients at all. The medical assistant that took us back didn't make eye contact the entire time and they ask very sensitive questions like if either parent has ever been in prison, abused alcohol/drugs, if the family is in a state of financial crisis. I think these things are appropriate on paperwork, and I am lucky that none of these apply to my family, but I couldn't help but think of the discomfort families that this does apply to felt having this all out in front of their young children in such a cold setting. Miranda, the NP my daughter previously saw, saw her at this visit, and introduced herself saying she had never seen us before. I kindly reminded her she had seen her the year previously (which she would have known had their record keeping been up to date) to which she said "no no I only go to Clackamas on Saturdays". We had seen her on a saturday, which I mentioned before, but I dropped it. Again Miranda never addressed my daughter, even after I told her to ask her how she was feeling as she was the patient and would know her symptoms better. The first strep test was negative, and my daughter's symptoms improved over the weekend. On monday morning I received a voicemail from the clinic that her second strep test came back. Now I signed for detailed voicemails on our forms, so the strep result could have been left on my voicemail. Unfortunately at my work I get no cell reception (in a basement) and had to call back on a landline during my break. I waited on hold for 10 minutes only to be told someone would call me back. No one called me back for two hours, which I again had to wait for my break to call them back. I called back and was told my daughter had strep-and she had been at school that day. So long story short, my daughter finished her antibiotics and seemed to be doing better, then her symptoms returned-fever, sore throat, I thought her strep came back. Her dad took her back to the doctor office (he also told me the receptionists were arguing at the front) and my daughter saw another doctor, her dad said he seemed rushed, but was nice enough. My daughter tested negative in the office again for strep. Three days went by with no one calling us with the second result. I called and left a message and did not hear back. I called again the next day and insisted to wait on hold for the medical assistant, to which the receptionist seemed annoyed. The medical assistant said "Ummm I have to check with the provider to see if I can share this information with you". Even though in the paperwork, I am the mother, she is under the age of 14, and I have legal right to her medical record. So I was placed on hold, and then the MA told me it was negative, thankfully. 2 weeks later I received another vm, I called back, and was told "We have been trying to get a hold of you for two weeks to tell you your daughter's test results". When I told him I spoke to someone, and had no voicemails,he said "Oh no one documented that." I was done with this place.
I wrote a review before and it was removed by yelp so I'd also like to add a rating for yelp here too which would be 1 star. Anyway I took my child here and paid over 200$ to have the doctor spend a couple of minutes finding nothing wrong with my child. Then I found out from friends that my child had croup (sp?). And after talking to a couple of others doctors this was correct. I told them I had taken my child to the doctor and what I had told the doctor at Oregon Pediatrics and they laughed and said they didn't know how a kids doctor would not know that. I wish I wouldn't have paid so much to an incompetent doctor to find out something that apparently is common knowledge to many parents.
I have to say that I love this office and more specifically Dr. Joy! All 3 of my kids go here and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Joy was able to get to the bottom of some things we had questioned and were told were "normal" when we lived out of state. Trust me, if you're looking for a pediatrician, THIS is the place. We always get timely appointments too and have never ever been kept waiting.
