List of Robert Bolton Md's Reviews
He is a great Dr, who knows more about medical problems than most doctors. Yes he is busy but worth the weight in gold. Those who complain, go find another Dr and watch your health deteriate. Dr Ames gets 5 stars...
Great professional service. Very attentive. Dr. Ames is a reflection of the excellent quality of services his practice provides to Canadians!
Bring a book but well worth the wait. Awesome follow up and great resources!
Fairly concerning in reading all these negative comments about Dr. Ames and I feel for the most part they are embellished, exaggerated, and or misdirected. . Socialized medicine has wait times people, that's a fact. In addition, when Dr's are constantly nickeled and dimed from the Gov't on what they can bill, it will undoubtedly come across in prices. This a Provincial (OHIP) issue and not something that should be directed to a specific doctor. True, Dr. Ames is not the old school, starched button-down, country club doctor but his approach is warm and very relatable. For those who feel misguided in his direction, I would suggest that you do an abundance of homework prior to the apt and ask a million questions. It would be an unwise and unreal expectation for any Dr to completely diagnose your issue in the 5-10 minutes OHIP pays for. I find Dr. Ames is up to date on all the new medications and takes a tremendous amount of caution with his patients. I feel confident in his ability and well taken care of at his office. He always has an open mind and is open to new ideas if you state your case well.
Have been a patient of Dr. Ames for 20+ years. Yes we too get frustrated with the innability to get through to his office or the challenge it is to get an appointment booked and finally the excruciatingly long wait times in his office. Perhaps he does he does struggle with his overall personal appearance and yes his staff is lacking on all fronts, but here it is .... I wouldn't put my health in anyone else's hands.
He needs his own Dr because he does not look well. Stressed out, over weight and trying to meet patient quota instead of medical care, he does not care to follow through to book specialists or tests. Look elsewhere!
I would give zeros, but it is not an option. The office is always unprofessional and rude and Dr Ames is always dishevelled and rushed. This makes the patients have to wait hours for appointments and no one bothers to apologize. Debbie blames Dr Ames saying “he double books to off set cancellations” and Dr Ames blames the office staff incompetence. Either way find someone who takes your health seriously because in this office, “the $ bottom line” is the priority.
I've had good expériences with Dr Ames for myself and my daughter, he's very friendly and knowledgeable, As a first time mum his reassuring attitude was much appreciated when my baby was small. The wait times to get in when you have an appointment can be long, but that has been my experience with all Drs in Canada and I don't feel rushed at all when I see him. His staff have been friendly and helpful to me. I appreciate that when the wait times are long the staff let me know so I can go run errands and come back rather than sit and waste time.
They withhold test results. Stay away or get a good lawyer!
staff at this clinic don’t answer the phone after 2pm??? Never heard of this in any other doctors office. Very hard to make a apt line rings busy multiple times before you can even get through between the hours 9am-2pm

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
