List of Scot A. Sullivan's Reviews
I have to admit I was a little nervous before my surgery, but Dr. Sullivan’s staff made me feel so calm. Dr. Sullivan’s knowledge & care was 5 star. I feel lucky he was recommended to me!!!!!
My experience with Dr. Sullivan wasn’t good, unfortunately. I saw him to have a growth above my eye removed. The surgery went smoothly but after only a few days, I could tell it wasn’t healing right, and the growth was still there. Plus, the skin around my eye had begun to droop. The nurse had said I didn't need to schedule a followup (apparently they don't do followups). So I was hesitant to call the office. I decided to give it some time. The area did not improve, in fact, it grew worse, so I finally called the office. I had to insist on being seen. That was stressful. At my appointment, Dr. Sullivan said it was early in the healing process and would get better. I was told to massage the site. When I pointed out the problem area, he said irritably, “I saw that. I don’t know what it is.” He did not look up from the computer when he said it. He did not tell me to come back, or show any interest in whether the problem resolved. I went home and massaged it as instructed. It didn’t get better. As the weeks passed, I realized that I had a bad surgical outcome. That was disappointing. The growth was still there, at least partly. On top of that, I now had a webbing on the inside of my eye (an excess fold of skin). That hadn't been there before. It had been caused by the surgery. My eye looked worse than it did before surgery, in that regard. I didn't know what caused the bad outcome, so I didn't blame Dr. Sullivan, necessarily .But three months after surgery, I made an appointment to see him. I had expected there to be a scar but this was far worse than that. I wanted to learn what had gone wrong. This was a bad idea. My eye—with it’s webbing and the large scar–seemed to make Dr. Sullivan mad at me. I was polite and non-confrontational, explaining I was trying to figure out what had happened. However, my questions seemed to make him angry. At one point, I got the name of a medication wrong, and he snapped at me ("I said it's not that!"). Instead of calling him on his rudeness, I apologized hastily. I was intimidated by his anger. He gave me 3-4 differing explanations of what had happened with my eye. He finally settled on one explanation, but it seemed really unlikely. When I asked questions, though, he again became defensive. He said that since he didn’t do followups, he wasn’t exactly sure what my outcome should look like. He also said things like, "I didn't know you wanted it all removed." He did admit that he should have done things differently during my surgery. In the end, I'm sorry I chose Dr. Sullivan to be my doctor. He was nice in the beginning, before the surgery. But he was rude and dismissive in subsequent visits. He never apologized for what appears to be his mistake. I had interviewed other oculoplastic surgeons, and I wish I had chosen one of them.
Dr. Sullivan did an excellent job on my eyelid surgery and aftercare treatment. I had no complications, a minimal scar that is healing beautifully and only minimal discomfort for a few hours post op. I was given all the information I needed by Dr. Sullivan to make the decision to do the surgery after an informative consultation with him. I actually needed less done then I originally thought based on his honest approach to my specific needs. I love my results and am grateful that the complications I was having before seeing him have all been resolved.
Dr. Sullivan did a fantastic job on my eyes! I'm 7 weeks post-op, and my eyes look and feel great. I was nervous getting oculoplasty, but the staff was all so kind and helped me relax. I'm SO very glad I did it. I had lost about 80% of my upper peripheral vision, but now I can see SO much more. Better, safer vision where I don't bump my head on cabinets/car doors/etc. And, it looks just beautiful!
Dr Sullivan was clear and did an excellent job of explaining the procedure. Easy to talk to and to ask questions. Staff was professional, kind and helpful. Outcome was excellent. I would recommend him with absolutely no reservations.
Dr. Sullivan is great. His staff is also great. Him and his staff are very caring to the patients.
I couldn’t be more pleased with my recent eyelid surgery performed by Dr. Scot Sullivan. Both medically and aesthetically, the results were superb. My vision is much better now, especially when reading at night. I experienced no pain, only mild discomfort. Dr. Sullivan is truly gifted, and I felt I could place my full trust in him. Oh—and my appearance! The “before” and “after” photos show an astonishing improvement, with no trace of stitches. My three office visits, which took place during difficult months of the pandemic, all went very smoothly. Dr. Sullivan and surgical assistant Sabrina were never rushed and gave clear explanations. Staff members Joanie and Cheyenne were also cordial and helpful. I’m impressed and extremely grateful.
Not impressed with this dr.
I recently had Surgery with Dr. Sullivan. I am 5 weeks post op and extremely pleased with my surgery. I give him and his staff thumbs up. They were very informative about the procedure as well as caring during my visits. I was some what nervous as well as excited. The procedure was a breeze and not much pain. The comfort I felt was an incredible experience. I would highly recommend Dr Sullivan and his staff to anyone who’s seeking to have eye surgery.
Dr. Sullivan performed eye lid surgery to recover my field of vision. He and his office was caring, up front at all steps, and very professional. My recovery was quick and nearly painless. The end result restored my field of vision to 100%, as well as making me look 20 years younger. I would recommend Dr. Sullivan to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
