I've aged out some years ago but I've always loved going to my appointments there. I loved that parents were able to focus on the child. I loved the kid friendly waiting room which was mostly filled with activities children could do. I wish I didn't age out. some of the best treatment I've received.

We were referred here by our pediatrician after my son got a "Boxer's fracture" on his hand. When Shriners received the referral, they called to ask if we knew we were able to come to the walk in fracture clinic at anytime, I asked about wait times, etc and they simply said to plan on a few hours. We brought books, coloring, etc and were ready for the wait. But it never came. From entering the parking garage, to check in was a breeze. I never "waited" longer than 5 minutes maybe. We got checked in, set up, seen by our terrific MA Travis, who my son called Terry-dactyl as he thought his name was Terry, and moved along SO fast. I started paperwork at 10:43 and we left at 12:37, pulled OUT of the parking lot then. Jack had to receive another x-ray because our PA didn't like how his fingers looked and was worried he may have had an angular fracture. Often, that can only be treated with surgery, so they wanted the additional angle. I thought we were in for a long haul. But no, the x-ray was quick, the diagnosis, the discussion on next steps and finally the casting. The casting was probably the longest that we did any part of this process. I have NEVER in my life been to a "Hospital" that felt SO warm and welcoming, didn't have that "hospital" smell, and where EVERY single member of staff we saw and interacted with was friendly, positive and truly working hard to make every kid feel special AND comfortable. To be frank, I would have waited 4 hours for this process because they were SO kind and SO attentive. We made an appointment to go back on August 10 and remove the cast and x-ray again to make sure he's healing well. But I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and experience. I would come here again, but I hope we don't have any more fractures to treat!

Dr Laron at Shriners is the best doctor around. He truly is so caring and compassionate. He met my daughter on her level and helped ease her anxiety. When he learned that she loved the power rangers he totally went with it and it helped her trust him. He took time to explain things to us. We were never rushed. We felt truly cared for and valued. And he always made us smile, even behind the mask!!! I wish my daughter wasn’t so close to aging out of Shriners. We’d keep him forever.
