Unity Center For Behavioral Health's Online Review Report Card

I was admitted in December 2024. I was super stressed but it ended up okay, the beds were good enough (contrary to other reviews, however I went into the adolescent unit) the food was okay and you were able to pick, there was outside time, optional activities (karaoke was a HUGE hit) etc. was super fun and was sad to see other OGs (people who were there as long/longer than you were) go, but oh well. You were allowed to work on school work if you wanted to, and we learned some things about the brain (every thing was optional, you didnt have to go) just an amazing place overall. I think the only thing bad is that every patient had a “list”, medications that their parents were supposed to have approved. Apparently hydroxyzine was on my list even though my mom hadnt approved of it and they didnt contact her before giving me it (it was a one time thing because I had a family meeting I was stressed about) so that was definitely an experience when telling my mom about that and she didnt know! Shes had it before, so she wasnt too worried after being told what it was but thats 100% a concern. I would recommend Unity to other parents looking for a place to have their child admitted temporarily, as my experience was pretty good (no screaming, restraints, etc. like i was worried about) but definitely tell them to contact before giving medications !! ^_^

Excellent visit (15 days). They specialize in medicinal treatments. For those more group/therapy oriented this place is likely not for you. I came to get on a new medication regimen to eliminate chronic polypharmacy (11 medications) and they were great. They listened to my concerns and suggestions. Dr. Stone is the worst provider making negligent mistakes by doubling one and lowering another without notifying me. Angela and her team was fantastic.

Such a waste of time. Legacy as a whole is limited in their scope of practice and in my opinion an incomplete practice. You shouldn’t go here for anxiety, panic disorder or seizure. They won’t give you effective medication. They’ll offer you some nonsense and call it a day. Hate you Legacy.

As a 15-year-old girl I was obviously scared out of my mind when I went there in summer of 2023, most of the staff there were nice.. but others, they made it very clear that they only cared because they where getting paid to... I made quite a few friends there who were in a rough place like I was.. but the reason it's a three star is due to a few negative experiences there. At one point I had managed to find a sharp object and use it to harm myself, after realizing what I had done I had used the call help button. They sent in a middle aged white man with short white hair and a skinny biuld who completely ignored the fact that I was bleeding out on my bed and he walked in to the middle of my room with a pretentious stride as if he was more significant than I, as if I was a lower life form than him.. In a very obvious condescending and insincere tone he asked me why didn't I just kill myself then and there.. he paced back and forth with his head up high and his arms behind is back with a snobby accent to his steps without looking in my direction once. He told me that if I actually wanted to kill myself I would have done it, And that I was too afraid to. he had a arrogant demeanor to what I can only describe as sociopathic and ingenuine. He also didn't let me bid my farewells to one of my closest friends that I had made in there who I didn't know whether I was ever going to come in contact with again.. he had stated that I wasn't allowed to talk to them because I was too sick and I would problems if I did :( I was admitted for suicidal ideation and attempts.

I tried to tell the provider that I was sick and he didn't listen to me, extreme headache, nausea and other things I didn't if it was the medication they placed on me or not at the time it wasn't. He antagonized me the entire time I was there, Was going to kick me out without a safe way to go home. The only person who listened to was a nurse in the substance abuse area. Thankfully for her I was able to get home safe. It turned out I had a double ear infection with both eardrums popping. I'm have temporary 90% in both ears. Yay!!!

The staff are really caring, never negative,the nurses are great for the most part. My N.P. and Dr. were knowledgeable, although I felt a bit like a Guinea pig for med.s at times,place was clean,food was good in general

The staff is super, friendly and helpful for your whole family. Dr. Rowely is outstanding.

My name is Ryan. This place will only help you become less violent through medication experiments. I was willing to explore medication treatment and I was suicidal, However at the end of my session talking to them, they both got up and left the room and told me I couldn't wait in the private room. They didn't even tell me they were done. They failed most of the steps for my care and needs. The intake nurse was rude. They didn't give me anything that could help me and basically kicked me out with the solution that I should go back to my regular provider for help. Where it was that provider that sent here. So basically playing the run around game with my care. They don't care about your needs even when they ask you those questions and they can't help you with your needs even when you ask. I don't hate the people there but the situation. The place is full of drone slaves trying to churn out your wallet and get insurance money. It's a factory to make insurance money basically. I was kicked out for being suicidal and my needs were passed away for someone else to care about or deal with. This is not a feeling. This is a fact. Saying it would be just feeling this way, would be gaslighting. So don't come here for anything other then being violent. Even if you are suicidal, they lack the drive to even help you. That leaves only one care. money. They prioritize treating violence and taking your money or billing insurance over treating your suisidal tendency or care. They basically want to turn violent people into zombies. You may as well start the ethgenics program already. Overall I'm getting the run around with my care, dismissed, not taken serious, isolated from healing. This is a common thing that happens. Set up for failure. I've been to therapy my whole life and I still power through to question everything and learn as much as possible. And I can tell you it does not bode well for society that people like me, nerurodivergent and damaged and sick get treated this way and thrown into a toxic cycle not of choosing. It causes more damage and that damaged is often judged and ignored and it all feeds into each other. This place made me logically understand how close to collapse we are. I'll still be asking for help anyway until I die. But I'm getting tired and I don't know how much longer I can last. That's my main worry right now, and even though I painted these doctors a clear picture, they tossed me aside with weak I formation that leads me back into the toxic cycle. The runaround. With my life and needs. Of course I'm suicidal. But they still told me to leave. Very odd....
