Joshua Johnston's Online Review Report Card

I went to Dr Johnston needing hip replacement surgery Oct 1st 2020. From that came endless dr. consultations, tests, releases and treatment requirements I was told I had to have before I could have surgery. It is March and now they require I complete an 8 week treatment before I can schedule surgery. I live alone and have to use a walker now. I am in endless pain to the point I have been suicidal. I still have to work from home to pay my bills. I'd like to know how he has the right to make me go through any medical treatment against my wishes. Everyone from that practice has been callous with a too bad so sad attitude. You know what they say about Karma. This practice has shown no concern for me as an individual.

3 doctor visits prior to Johnston netted me nothing but a couple of anti-inflammatory prescriptions and a recommendation to lose some weight. Johnston looked at my X-rays and MRI, tells me that I need a new hip. I felt like, 'no sh$t , thank you!'. It's about time someone took the effort to see what was causing my pain and inability to be mobile. Surgery was quick, never felt any real pain, and was walking the same day. What an amazing outcome. I believe it was less than 2 weeks and I didn't even need a cane. Now nearly 2 years later, I almost never give that area a second thought. If and when my other hip fails me, there's no question where I'll be headed. Thank you Doc!!!

At the recommendation of another doctor, I visited Dr. Johnston to evaluate ongoing pain in my knee. Dr. Johnston concluded that old injuries had lead to serious arthritis and recommended knee replacement surgery. In addition, he recommended a complete program to prepare myself for the surgery, and my recovery. He, and his staff, provided a complete education as to what expect before, during, and after surgery. I am happy to report that the surgery went very well, and two months after surgery I am back to full activity levels.....with no pain in my knee. I would give Dr. Johnston my highest rating.

Dr. Johnston is a Great doctor he tells you as it is. Which is important. I'm a Massage Therapist of 11yrs and I feel he's got great bedside manors. When i need my Hip Replacement I'm for sure going back to him. I recommend him all day long. Thank you Dr. Johnston.

I've had chronic issues with both my hips, went in knowing what the prognosis was. Dr Johnston was informational and even discussed what future issues will arise and how he would like to proceed. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very straight forward which I appreciate greatly being in the medical field. Surgery went seamlessly, and I have had little to no pain since.

After months of waiting for my appointment to be seen for my miniscus tear, I could not have been more disgusted and disappointed in Dr. Johnston. He literally saw me for all of about 6 minutes, maybe spent 45 seconds looking at my MRI, and wouldn't even have actually looked at my knee at all, except when he was about to leave, I said "you're not going to examine my knee?" Then he spent about 10 seconds at that. He did not explain anything to me in my MRI unless I asked specific questions. Johnston spent most of the time telling me how he can repair the miniscus but my "knee might just feel the same anyway", so it was up to me. Made no sense. It's like he was trying to talk me out of fixing it. I was skiing, hiking and jogging before the tear, and after the tear had barely an ability to put weight on my leg, walk up stairs, or bend my knee without excruciating pain-so how would repairing it NOT make my knee feel better?????? Does he not have confidence in his own abilities, or does he just not care? He was a terrible listener, and I felt he was just there to make money and "turn and burn" patients. It was a rushed, poor excuse for a surgical examination, and he just wanted to get on to the next patient. Never even gave me ANY advice for care at home for inflammation, discomfort, etc. He did however, feel he had the time to promote his friends wife's business as a Natureapath, and spent a minute talking about her and gave me her card.......After my insurance, I was out of pocket $300 for this spendy 6 minutes, and for my $300 all I got was his buddies wife's business card. I did not persue surgery with Johnston, as he clearly either had no interest in treating my miniscus tear and providing DR. Care, OR he didn't have confidence in his abilities to make my knee feel any better. All I can say to that is: if he doesn't have confidence that he can make my knee feel any different, then I certainly don't have confidence in him either.

Today was my first appointment with Dr Johnston. He barely asked me questions and just looked at the X-rays and didn’t exam me throughly. He mad me feel stupid for even being there. If he knew ahead of time he wasn’t going to help me he shouldn’t have took my money. Think twice before seeing this doctor.

The best Dr I've ever had. Who else calls you at home after surgery to check on you? Most attentive, in and out of hospital.

I felt like he really took the time to discuss my condition and treatment options. haven't had surgery so I can't review that.

Amazing very honest doctor! He's throuhough and up front and takes the time to talk to you. I highly recommend him!
