Christian Devaux Md's Online Review Report Card

My Dr retired after 15 years of seeing him and I was afraid I wouldn’t find a good replacement. To my surprise, I am very satisfied with his attentiveness and care. Almost like him more as a Dr than my other one.

My husband and I both find Dr. Devaux to be excellent. He is thorough and thinks outside the box which helped me deal with a chronic pain issue that for years several doctors thought was stomach/gallbladder issues.He explains everything in detail and addresses our questions and concerns without being an alarmist. He is the first doctor my husband will visit regularly. He is not warm and fuzzy but that’s not why we see him. We like him and will change insurance if our plan no longer carries him.

Very good when dealing with seeing how the whole body is affected and interacts, specifically when dealing with physical symptoms that may or might be related to trauma and stress factors. He is moderately conservative and not a quack who seems quick to recommend invasive procedures to networking colleagues (I had a Dr. who tried to schedule me for a colonoscopy and endoscopy after one initial visit-- mild nausea and upset stomach were related to stress and an injury Is endured, so I walked out of the office, wouldn't even take my cat to Wear Salem Clinic.) He also takes time to check your ears, listen to you breathe, and will remove your stitches himself to ensure it's done right. He's a big supporter or vaccines and preventive health, but also expects you to get your yearly mammogram too.

Didn't bother diagnosing my new debilitating pain. Sent me to chronic pain management instead. Ignored me about a hip injury I could have had repaired back when I told him about it initially. Now it's been too long and I just have to live with it. If you have any real medical problems, go somewhere else.

I came in with sudden debilitating pain between my shoulders, focused on my right side. After 2/3 toradol shots and an x-ray, he sent me to chronic pain management. I cannot recommend a doctor unwilling to attempt to diagnose new disability.

This doctor is condescending and extremely rude. Pushed vaccine even when I said I haven’t been sick with a flu in 5+ years. Prescribed me medication and charged me for it even though I said I don’t want it, also never picked it up from the pharmacy. Tagged as much on the bill as he could. Locked me in the Salem clinic building with all the lights out for the cherry on top. By far the WORST doctor I have ever been to in my life.

Pushed vaccine sold me medications I refused in the office tagged as much as he could on the bill. Locked me in the building with the lights off. Condescending and very rude. Terrible doctor needs to have his license revoked. Lucky to get one star.

He is the best doctor I have ever visited in my 68 years! He listens. He explains. And he thinks outside the box when necessary. I suffered from pain in my abdomen that months of tests and treatment by others couldn’t figure out. He suggested a condition that is not usually considered. Follow up testing and imaging confirmed although at first I had my doubts. I always feel like he listens to my concerns and doesn’t discount my theories and takes time to discuss why and why not. I would have to think twice before leaving Salem so as not to have to find another doctor so willing to find solutions. Good and thoughtful doctor.

He doesn't take depression or other mood disorders seriously. He wouldn't sign off on a work modification schedule that I needed to accommodate my depression symptoms. He said that I could work just fine without an accommodation. I switched doctors immediately after that.

I am thankful that Dr. Christian Devaux is still accepting patients. I am a new patient with Dr Devaux and I can say that I have never been more impressed with a physician. He is very thorough. His office staff are supportive, helpful and friendly. Salem Clinic is also a very impressive building. I called my insurance to ask for a recommendation for a very good doctor. She gave me Dr. Devaux's name. I can see why she thought he was exceptional. Thank you!!!
