Edgar Maeyens's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr. Maeyens for 25 years and have found him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional in all my treatments. I would have to admit that he does speak fast which can be difficult for people like me who have hearing issues. However, when I ask him to repeat, he always takes the time to explain in clear detail all the I was not clear on. He has never rushed his examination and takes as much time as necessary to allow me to understand the what's and wherefores of any issues he sees. He is also my wife's doctor and thinks his work is outstanding. I am 83 years old and can say that Dr. Maeyens must be one of the top doctors I have ever had in my long life.Dr. Maeyens is retiring from his practice and has sold his practice to a new firm and they have one of the worst phone systems known to man and do not seem to have any desire to correct it or make it better.

Sad to hear that Dr. is retiring, though your rest is well earned. Thank you for your time, concern and great sense of humor during my visits. I think sometimes people forget the value of our medical professionals...getting up early many days to face affliction and suffering in others, finding their way to cope and finding the strength to come back again and face more people in distress. Hope you stay well and happy.

I took my daughter in for acne! The whole office was wonderful! The Drs made a very hard time relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you very much

Before this last year I would have recommended him with the highest ratings. He no longer cares, Instead of being honest that he does not care anymore he blames it on this new company silver Falls whom does not care for anything but the bottom line. Maeyens states he did this for the community, in the future do us no more favors. Just retire. I feel he has no medical energy or compassion any longer, Just looking for the that paycheck. I had been a patient for 20 plus years, Will not be back

Before I found Dr. Maeyens I had been living with HS for 20 years with no diagnosis. I was having the lesions cut and drained and had major surgery on my left underarm, then another 10 years with a name, but no cure. I found Dr. Maeyen when I moved to OR. He and his assistant had been reading about research that had finally started. They applied what they had been researching and I've blessedly been in remission for 15 years now. I highly recommend Dr. Maeyen!

I will really miss Dr. Maeyens. He performed Mohs facial surgery for a basal cell carcinoma in 2012 on me, and it healed beautifully. I always enjoyed his humor during my annual checkups, and it was obvious he loved his work. I was sad to learn that he joined Silver Falls in July of 2017, as I do not want to travel that far from my home. My neighbor always went with me and we scheduled our appointments together. She will miss him too.

My first encounter was a referral by my primary care physician for removal of a cancer on my nose. I was sent to Dr, Maeyens because of his having both the ability and the equipment to preform a Mohs micrographic surgery and his ability as a plastic surgeon to repair the resulting damage. The cancer was completely removed, there is no scar, and the cancer has not recurred after 5+ years.

Lady who answers the phone and greets clients is very cold and not nice at all. She doesn't seem to like her job very much and doesn't apologize for extremely long wait times.

I have been going to Dr. Maeyens for many years for a variety of skin problems all of which have been favorably resolved. Dr. Maeyens is also very funny so the visits are entertaining as well. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful skin specialist here in Coos Bay/North Bend area.
