List of Pacific Family Medical Center's Reviews
I cannot recommend Salem Health Labor and Delivery. The quality of care is a complete gamble—sometimes you encounter a decent nurse, other times an outright rude one, especially during shift changes. There’s no consistency or accountability. Many staff members lack basic compassion and proper bedside manners, and their disorganization leads to lost paperwork and constantly changing plans with each new shift. Several nurses in the NICU, Pediatrics, and Mother/Baby units seem burned out or indifferent, and they’re often hostile if you question or advocate for your needs. My own births left me with lasting trauma, and witnessing others’ experiences there has been equally distressing. The staff often seem more concerned with rushing than caring, and their refusal to listen or respect mothers’ concerns creates a turbulent, confusing environment. It’s frustrating how the same questions can get conflicting answers depending on who you ask—only to have the original answer reinstated later, unsettling both mother and baby. While not all nurses are problematic, some, like Kacey Roberts, have shown repeated insensitivity. I knew her personally, and she offended me during my experience. Several years after my initial terrible experience, she has now moved to an even more vulnerable unit and recently made a friend cry. That situation was really upsetting and frustrating to hear about—she was not supportive or compassionate, and her attitude contributed to an already difficult time for that mother. When I questioned her about why she was choosing to make certain comments that felt very judgmental, I told her it was inappropriate for a mother to be crying over her insensitive bedside manner. Her response was matter-of-fact and unapologetic—it was as if she was dismissing my concern by saying that some mothers get educated before birth, effectively shaming the friend she had already made cry. After she left, the realization and recognition sank in, which seemed to validate my friend's feelings and experience. Her lack of empathy and dismissiveness added to the distress, making the situation even more upsetting and uncomfortable. Additionally, many staff lack basic training in communicating with neurodivergent individuals or explaining procedures clearly, which is vital for anxious or sensitive mothers. Patience and understanding are rarely demonstrated, making the experience worse for those who need support the most. That said, Linda in Pediatrics is a shining exception—kind, patient, and genuinely caring. More staff like her would make a tremendous difference. Overall, if you’re seeking compassionate, organized, and respectful care, I strongly recommend choosing a different hospital. Salem Health’s current staff and environment fall far short of those standards.
I made an appointment 3 months ago at Salem health neurology for a basic neuro exam on a non symptomatic 18 yr old to meet a military entrance request. They cancelled and refused to do a basic exam
We had family visiting from another country and the pregnant Mom developed pre-eclampsia. They were immediately admitted and measures were taken to save both Mom and baby. Quite a long stay in the hospital. Due to excellent care, both are healthy. When the baby was finally discharged the doctor took a picture with the family. Such a sweet and personal touch. Mom and baby are back home and thriving. Thank you Salem Hospital.
I was a patient at salem health neurology until I discovered I had to pay 2 co pays for a half hour visit with my provider. He was a good doctor but I can't afford to pay double!
Their Surgery staff is uncaring and dismissive of patients and their concerns. I waited an extra month for surgery cause the office staff could not be bothered around the holidays to do their job a look up a prior authorization that sat for 3 weeks waiting for them to proceed. Not to mention not informing me till hours before surgery that I would not be an outpatient but an inpatient. Please for the love of GOD if you need surgery go to ANY SURGERY CLINIC EXCEPT FOR SALEM HEALTH SURGERY.
Salem Health ER department has nurses or at least one nurse named Nancy who will record you moaning in pain and make fun of you on the internet. And instead of publicly addressing it openly will hide their posts so no one can comment.
If you are a victim in ANYYY shape or form of a violent crime do not bother even asking these duns for help. After having to push and push as to why they are canceling my appointment on me. They claim they will not see me because simply put by the manager Stephanie they as a healthcare group 1) do not have to see any one they don’t want too no matter what you are going in for and 2) because they supposedly don’t do that “type” of paperwork…you guys are partners WITH Salem hospital how is that even possible?? And 3) they as a medical group have decided NOT TO SEE THOSE TYPES OF CASES….really?!? How does ANY of that make ANY sense for an urgent care?! My appointment was set for 6:20pm I made it the same morning at 8am for help because I can’t sleep! 2weeks prior I was taken to the hospital for a physical assault! Have been seen elsewhere since and I’m ok just can’t sleep. Er told me to go to urgent care regular doctors said the same thing since they can’t get me in for a little bit. So I did what I was told but then. They call me at 2 to tell me to bad so sad we will not see you PERIOD. They did not listen to me either and only wanted to repeatedly tell me they don’t do pain meds there…AND because this is related to the assault they won’t/“can’t” see me. I’m not even asking for pain meds or to be seen in regards to the injuries from the assault! Over the years this place has turned to complete GARBAGE 🗑 this is now the 4x I’ve had issues with them and after this experience today I’ll drive the extra miles to a more competent facility with competent staff, management and better mission Values. Stay safe sane and GO ELSEWHERE!
The absolute worst health care provider in Oregon, if not the whole west coast. They give you nurse practitioners, not any type of a real medical Dr. They lie, say they will change your prescription to something that helps, yet never follow through. You ask for a change in nurse practitioner, they never do, it's a complete status quo health care provider. Avoid west Salem by all costs, wait for an opening to see a real health care provider. Avoid Nurse practitioner Tateishi in particular! you've been warned.
Nightmare experience. I came in an ambulance in excruciating pain from a bowel obstruction, which I am prone to. I was in so much pain that I was blind from pain. I begged for help and was told to shut up. I needed help going to the bathroom and no one would help me. When someone finally showed up I was told to shut up again, that everyone heard me and didn’t want to hear it. I waited four hours in terrible pain and not one person showed me any kindness or compassion. When I was finally seen and given a CT scan I finally had a doctor talk to me in kind way. They wanted to do surgery but finally it resolved itself, as it as done in the past, but they still wanted to admit me to observe me. In the past that has meant spending a week in the hospital and I refused and left against medical advice. I refused to spend another minute in that place and will travel to Portland in the future rather than suffer that abuse. Later I contacted a patient advocate to discuss my treatment and I received a pathetic letter from someone saying that “maybe they could have communicated better” when I asked for help and that they were more than happy to assist me to the bathroom and should have communicated that better. No apology, no admitting that this behavior was unacceptable and wouldn’t be tolerated and would be addressed so that it never happened again, just that they were sorry I felt the way I did and were concerned for me when I left. I am sure they have surveillance cameras and could verify everything I said and if they can’t admit this is completely unacceptable I don’t want to ever deal with them or anything associated with this hospital. I have spoken to several people since then who have had similar experiences with the emergency room. Read the reviews on this place and find another place for care, even if it means traveling a distance. They offer no help, no human decency and no care no matter what they try to say.
Thank you for taking such good care is my Mom after she broke her hip. Everyone was so kind and professional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
