When I tried to advocate for my own health care he said I wasn’t trusting him and that I was being disrespectful and I told him I had the right to advocate for my own health care and that I didn’t have to just put blind trust in him and he continue to prescribe things that didn’t help and that made me sleepy and dizzy and things that I didn’t need like antidepressants for my leg neuropathy. This has been ongoing for several years he does not listen and he does not help. Also does not understand female issues. Awful care.

If you need someone to advocate for you in mental health DO NOT see him. He’ll prescribe you medication but won’t provide any documentation for ADA accommodations. His bedside manner is horrible too!

If you need support in mental health do not go to him!!! He’ll prescribe you medicine for conditions related to mental health but won’t provide any documentation for work or school!! I was unlucky and was assigned to him at Salem Clinic. After being a patient there for 15+ years I was dropped by them because he complete an ADA Form for school so I could have extra time for testing while I was getting acclimated to medication.

Dr. Skelding is part of Ochsner Baptist. You should know that they charge $513 for a new patient visit. $500 for 10-15 minutes with a doctor is unheard of . And your insurance may only pay half, depending on your deductible. I cannot stress enough that they DO NOT tell you beforehand that this is what will be billed to you. Never returning to Ochsner Baptist again. My issue is not with Dr. Skelding but with the outrageous cost of a simple visit.

Very thorough. Great at highlighting any danger signs and making sure they are well understood. Unassuming. Not wedded to computer screen and pushes back to have genuine conversations. Caring attitude is visible. Needless to say...smart.
