List of Rajan Nair's Reviews
Watched his care of my niece during and after bariatric surgery. I am surprised she hasn't just died. He nicked her gut and she percolated for four days in severe pain. Salem hospital nursing staff shamed her for complaining of such severe pain. "You're the only one we've seen that has this much pain." Insinuating that she is just a complainer. Finally they scanned her and found that her colon had been compromised. They had to do another surgery, clean her out and remove living tissue that had been affected. Now a week later, still in severe pain and still getting i.v. antibiotics and still being shamed for having pain. One more scan to find that she now has pancreatitis. Lawsuit talk aside, if you value your life, you will find a doctor who isn't biased against obese people. I don't know why he's in this business, the money must be pretty good.
I had emergency surgery late on a Friday/Saturday. He was patient, explained what happened and how he fixed it. I was often short with him and he was always kind to me. My recovery has been relatively easy- especially given the severity of my injury. Thanks Dr. Nair- I wasn't sure I would ever see my home again.
10/07/20 - Had a 9:15am appt, waited 30 min before deciding to reschedule with a different doctor. Seems he cannot keep a schedule even 2 hours into his day and already behind. Nice front office staff though.
10/07/20 - Had a 9:15am appt. Sat in waiting area 30 minutes before deciding to reschedule with another doctor. I prefer a doctor that values my time and doesn't start their day already behind schedule. Side note: front office staff is very friendly.
Dr. Nair is very kind, compassionate and understanding. Last month (August 28, 2017), I had Roux-en bypass (laparoscopic). I am very happy with how well the surgery went and that my pain was reduced by the day I was discharged from the hospital. He is calm and reassuring even when called after hours to answer questions. I truly feel I am in good hands and that he is taking interest in my life to improve my health and my weight. I am so grateful for this surgeon. Two weeks later, I have minimal scarring from the surgery. I would recommend him and Salem Health Bariatric Surgery Center, they truly are a Center of Excellence.
Dr. Nair is a highly skilled bariatric surgeon. My recovery time is great. I had minimal pain when I left the hospital and had no need for liquid Vicodin. My stitches looked good from one week post surgery. With his recommendations my scars are going down. I also found him to be extremely patient and reassuring even if I called after hours. He always responded calmly. I love my surgeon.
My experience with Dr. Nair is that he is meticulous, and does make you jump through hoops, but only because he wants you to be a success. I had not one problem after my surgery. It was textbook perfect. And his caring attitude makes everything that much easier.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
