Asks questions, cuts you off before can answer, always in a rush to get you out, even though nobody waiting to come in. Instead of a correction to provide quality of life, stated to send to Dr. Swofford for stimulator. Doesn't fix the problem and the stimulators accordingly if works only does 50-70%. Seems to be more interest in the ongoing business having to keep coming back for tweeking of it and battery replacement. Get a 2nd opinion or better yet go to one that wants to resolve the problem once, not mask a pain signal. Receptionist was very friendly and the only positive of the short visits!!
Dr. Slone's attention to patients and personal care is unsurpassed. He has performed surgeries on my wife and I and we couldnot havebeen more pleased. His is as excellent as theyget.
Excellent doctor and surgeon. My recovery went very, I'm grateful.
It was my first visit and I was taken by how helpful the staff was in getting me checked in. Dr. Sloan greeted me in the waiting room and was very hospitable and friendly. He very clearly detailed the issue of my spine and was very clear in what is needed to be done (which in my case nothing, except come back for a checkup).
My experience. I had cervical spine surgery, pro-c placement, and a swallow problem after. When I had a swallow x-ray with therapist and this MD, MD was adamant there was nothing seen even though the speech therapist pointed it out on film - as I swallowed there was incomplete closure on left causing me to cough on fluid. He refused to accept and continued to refuse any sign of swallow problem was seen.
His surgical skill changed my life. I no longer have ANY of the symptoms -- numbness, burning sensation in legs, pain when standing or walking -- since the surgery. Relief was immediate. 8 weeks, to the day, after surgery, and I'm walking 2-3 miles regularly. It's a joy. Sloan was my 2nd second opinion, so I saw 3 doctors. Waited for over 2 hours each to see the 1st two. Not only did not wait more than a few minutes, but Dr. Sloan came to the waiting room personally to greet me.
I saw Dr Sloan for a herniated disc. He performed surgery in a timely manner, but I contracted a Staph infection from the surgery. When I continually complained of increased pain after surgery, he dismissed my complaints. He refused to see me in his office, and a month later I was in the ER with discitis. The infection had begun to travel up my spine and I nearly died before I received any form of treatment. Dr Sloan continued to dismiss my complaints of pain even after the diagnosis of discitis
From my recent experience you must be in severe pain before you actually get to see Dr. Sloan. Even if you have a scheduled appointment with him, you will more than likely just see a NP. It was a complete waste of time to go there. The Dr. that read my MRI had a completely different opinion than the NP did. I guess Dr. Sloan was much too busy to see me, but I bet the billing is the same as if I would have actually seen him. Be careful!!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
