List of Salem Health Medical Clinic ? Edgewater's Reviews
I cannot recommend Salem Health Labor and Delivery. The quality of care is a complete gamble—sometimes you encounter a decent nurse, other times an outright rude one, especially during shift changes. There’s no consistency or accountability. Many staff members lack basic compassion and proper bedside manners, and their disorganization leads to lost paperwork and constantly changing plans with each new shift. Several nurses in the NICU, Pediatrics, and Mother/Baby units seem burned out or indifferent, and they’re often hostile if you question or advocate for your needs. My own births left me with lasting trauma, and witnessing others’ experiences there has been equally distressing. The staff often seem more concerned with rushing than caring, and their refusal to listen or respect mothers’ concerns creates a turbulent, confusing environment. It’s frustrating how the same questions can get conflicting answers depending on who you ask—only to have the original answer reinstated later, unsettling both mother and baby. While not all nurses are problematic, some, like Kacey Roberts, have shown repeated insensitivity. I knew her personally, and she offended me during my experience. Several years after my initial terrible experience, she has now moved to an even more vulnerable unit and recently made a friend cry. That situation was really upsetting and frustrating to hear about—she was not supportive or compassionate, and her attitude contributed to an already difficult time for that mother. When I questioned her about why she was choosing to make certain comments that felt very judgmental, I told her it was inappropriate for a mother to be crying over her insensitive bedside manner. Her response was matter-of-fact and unapologetic—it was as if she was dismissing my concern by saying that some mothers get educated before birth, effectively shaming the friend she had already made cry. After she left, the realization and recognition sank in, which seemed to validate my friend's feelings and experience. Her lack of empathy and dismissiveness added to the distress, making the situation even more upsetting and uncomfortable. Additionally, many staff lack basic training in communicating with neurodivergent individuals or explaining procedures clearly, which is vital for anxious or sensitive mothers. Patience and understanding are rarely demonstrated, making the experience worse for those who need support the most. That said, Linda in Pediatrics is a shining exception—kind, patient, and genuinely caring. More staff like her would make a tremendous difference. Overall, if you’re seeking compassionate, organized, and respectful care, I strongly recommend choosing a different hospital. Salem Health’s current staff and environment fall far short of those standards.
Dr. Shweta Gurram should have her license taken away, she is rude, and doesn't read her notes, I am getting a different MD, everyone else is ok,
Who has had experience with the Salem heath edgewater clinic and their NP”s? Since February 2025 I have been advocating for my health and this provider to fix all false statements, information, retaliation flag for calling his boss on him and diagnoses he placed in his medical file. All 3 supervisors; refused to help and dismiss all complaints or concers brought to them with the respose “its his word against yours” and direct you to the Salem hospital patient advocate will only advocate for the hospital and their clinics and tell you if you do an amend request then someone will read and investigate it and send a response just to find out it went to the provider who’s breaking the law who denies the request and adds more false information. So I call the advocate back to understand why it was sent to the provider who’s breaking the law and asking how this can be appropriate when he’s already committed crimes and not being punished so their solution is to write a rebuttal letter telling me that the purpose is to have it sent to someone else to look into and investigate but then I get a letter stating the letter will be placed in my file but none of the falsified information will be removed and nothing will be done, so you call the advocate to ask what the CMO of Salem health edgewater clinics name is and then put on hold just to be told “I was told not to tell you that information” and then everyone at the hospital or clinic you call says “we don’t have one of those” so I did my own research and found the CMO so I wrote him a grievance and complaint letter and upon dropping off the letter I was met with aggressive security telling me I have no business there and can not come back. About a week letter I received a letter from the Edgewater clinic stating that “due to your aggressive behavior with staff you are no longer welcome at our clinic” so I call the patient advocate to make a grievance about the provider and the bullying and harassment from the clinic for dropping off a complaint letter so we file the grievance and I receive another letter saying “the provider Denys any false information and nothing will be fixed or addressed” not the exact words but basically same thing. So I call the advocate again who says “I’ll take it to my higher ups and get back to you” then I receive a letter that says “we looked into it and are sorry you don’t agree with the outcome” I call the advocate who doesn’t answer and leave a message. I received a return call from the Salem hospital Corporate integrity officer who then tells me “here at Salem hospital we have exhausted all of our resources and there is nothing we can legally do” so I said “you can hold this provider accountable and correct the falsified medical records” she then said “bye” and hung up. I’m so done with being sent in circles, bullied and the health care system just shits on me. I want to start a petition, PM me if you have had a similar experience with this clinic and providers.
Salem Health is not going to help you. Find doctor outside of the network. These guys don't listen, will order a test but not follow up. They also boycott people in pain instead of helping or fighting to find the source and treatment. They are definitely going downhill and monopolize all care
I've been with this clinic for years now. I love this clinic and its providers/staff! I see quite a few negative reviews, so I thought I would share my thoughts. The front desk staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They have always placed me in a room on or before my appointmen time. The medical assistants are professional, efficient and kind. I have had two primary care providers and they have both been wonderful! My current PCP, Dr. Hadeed, listens to me and is very responsive, knowledgeable and caring. She has referred me to specialists as needed, which resolved ongoing problems I had been dealing with for years, with another clinic. All in all, I am very happy with Salem Health Edgewater Clinic and feel priviledged to be there!
I love Jennifer as my son’s pediatrician but the receptionist’s are always so rude and unhelpful!
I made an appointment 3 months ago at Salem health neurology for a basic neuro exam on a non symptomatic 18 yr old to meet a military entrance request. They cancelled and refused to do a basic exam
The receptionist Sidnee was extremely cold and condescending toward me. My provider has been wanting me to try and come in since Friday to get some time sensitive blood work done. I have now gone to this clinic 3 separate times to get the blood work done and each time I've been told the phlebotomist is unavailable. Today I went to the clinic at about 12:30 and spoke to Sidnee, the receptionist, she told me that the phlebotomist was on lunch until 1:30 which I understood. I work in a medical office, I understand there is a lunch hour and that staff need to have their breaks. I came back at 1:35 and a different receptionist said that now the phlebotomist would be unavailable until 2pm. This is extremely frustrating for someone who works full time and is taking time out of their work day to get this testing done. This was now my third attempt trying to get the blood work done and I keep being turned away. Sidnee happened to be present during this second interaction. I politely explained that I was there at 12:30 and was told to come back at 1:30 and now I'm being told to come back at 2:00. Sidnee raised her voice at me with an extremely rude tone and said "That was before but now they are in a training!!!". Why couldn't she have said this initially to me during our first interaction? The way she spoke to me showed that she has zero compassion for patients and could care less about their hardships. There are sick people dealing with real health issues and the last thing we need is some rude receptionist speaking down to us. The way she spoke to me and raised her voice at me left me in tears feeling extremely defeated because this was my third attempt to get this blood work done. I never want to go back to this clinic which is unfortunate because I do like my doctor but I refuse to be treated like that. I work in a medical office and I would never speak to a patient the way I was spoken to.
We had family visiting from another country and the pregnant Mom developed pre-eclampsia. They were immediately admitted and measures were taken to save both Mom and baby. Quite a long stay in the hospital. Due to excellent care, both are healthy. When the baby was finally discharged the doctor took a picture with the family. Such a sweet and personal touch. Mom and baby are back home and thriving. Thank you Salem Hospital.
I can NEVER EVER get a response to any of my phone calls. They don’t care what it’s for. I have called the state on the office. I’ll find a new clinic. They’re customer service is about a C-
